Obituary

Wendy Rae Kunz Ingebrigtsen, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on May 6th, 2019. She spent her last days surrounded by her best friend Sam, her children, family and close friends.

Wendy led a life full of love and laughter. All who knew her will remember passion for music, games, yarn and gadgets. She is survived by her parents, Wendell and Verla Kunz, and her 7 siblings. Her most prized possessions though, were her 5 children and 22 grandchildren; Aaron Ingebrigtsen, Shantal and Brian Brake (8), Katrina and Rich Nelson (8), Matthew and Amiee Ingebrigtsen (4), Tamra and Russell Wright (2).

Services will be held on Saturday May 11th, 2019 at the church building on Extension and 6th Avenue. 616 S Extension Road Mesa, AZ 85210.

The family requests that in lieu of traditional black, please wear bright colors that remind you of Wendy. If sending flowers or plants, please use Watson’s Flower Shop on main and have delivery set for the church on Saturday between 7:30-9:30am.

I was her visiting teacher and friend. We watched the series Chuck together. We went to lots of movies, We sang together, we joked together . We had lots of fun. What a great and lovely Person. I loved watching Her sing in the choir . Or playing piano at a baptism. Or teaching primary songs. That’s what Wendy was, and is. She is music!

I was fortunate to have Wendy come into my life twice. Once when I was finishing up my senior year of high school. We dated and met socially from then until I went on an LDS mission. We had to part ways when she met and married Rich. The second time was about 6 years ago when our paths crossed in social media and we were able to catch up on each other’s lives to that point and we’ve stayed in contact until Father called her Home. Farewell my dear friend until we meet again.

I have had the joy of knowing Wendy for about 30 years! I’m sorry I couldn’t be at the funeral. I loved having a friend who loved me in spite if my many faults. We could disagree on things and still remain strong friends. I loved the two years we shared as roommates. Wendy you taught me so much. I miss you my friend, not goodbye, but until we see each other again!
