Vince Shawn Blackwater

Vince Shawn Blackwater, 43 of Mesa Arizona, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in Gilbert, Arizona.

Vince was born on June 16,1979 in Shiprock New Mexico into the Bit’ahnni (under His Cover) Clan, Navajo Tribe, born for the Akimel O’odham (Pima) Tribe. Vince graduated from Westwood High School, Mesa, Az.

Vince enjoyed sports, attending the games with family. He was an Arizona Cardinal fan, Boston Red Sox fan and his biggest team was the Los Angeles Lakers, players Magic & Kobe, which he loved since he was a young boy. He enjoyed listening to music. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

Vince is survived by his sons, Isiah (Kaylyn), Kobe (Camelia), and Justin Blackwater. Grandchildren, Kateri, Bryson and Alana Blackwater. Companion Vanessa Yazzie. Parents Errol and Geri Blackwater. Sister Tawnya (Stanley). Nieces Renae and Shayna Blackwater. Uncles Harold Freeland, Wilburton Oklahoma and Aaron Freeland, Las Cruces NM. Aunt Charlene Freeland, Teec Nos Pos Arizona. Aunts Michelle (Mark)Leos, Vicki and Kim Blackwater. Grandmother Mary Blackwater. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Vince has a very large family who love him.

Vince is preceded in death by his Grandmother Gail G. Freeland and Grandfather Harold J. Freeland Sr. Aunt Andrea Perkins and Uncle Titus K. Blackwater.

Visitation for Vince will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bunkers Funeral Home, 33 North Centennial Way, Mesa Arizona.

Graveside Services will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 6:00 a.m. at West Blackwater Cemetery, 2793 West Arrow Weed Road, Blackwater, Arizona.
