Obituary

Valene Arizona Sanders Sherwood was born in Prescott, AZ, February 14, 1925 to Amy Lola Despain and John Lester Sanders and passed March 10, 2019.

She married her sweetheart Dan Calvin May 4 th 1945 in the Mesa, AZ Temple. They lived in Burbank, CA, Phoenix, Eagar, Chino Valley, Mesa, Mt. Vernon Arkansas and Gilbert, AZ.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and held many positions where she was able to be of service to others. She and Calvin served a mission to Kentucky Louisville Mission.

She is survived by her children: Sandra (Vaughn), John (Kandy), Kenneth, Ted (Diana) and Jason. 35 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister: Maxine Langford.

Preceded in death by her husband Calvin, oldest daughter Danna, son Phil and his wife Kristi, Kenneth’s wife Jennifer, her 3 brothers: Alva, Dwight, Lester and 2 sisters: Dot Milne and Elaine Judd.

Funeral will be held Saturday, March 16 th at 21320 S. Greenfield Road, Gilbert, Arizona. Viewing at 9:00 AM and services at 10:00 AM. Internment at 5:00 PM in Eagar Arizona Cemetery.
