A Life Remembered

Obituary

Sharon Angela Herberger

Sharon Angela Herberger, 74, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on June 20, 1952, in Yuma, Arizona, to the late Jack and Noreen Villarreal, Sharon lived a full and vibrant life that touched everyone lucky enough to know her. Sharon was a woman of big heart and fierce perseverance. She spent years behind the wheel as a school bus driver, safely delivering kids to and from school, and her young passengers adored her because she was a kid at heart herself. She also devoted much of her life to caregiving, showing up for the people she loved with a strong work ethic and a tenderness that never wavered. Whether she was working or playing, Sharon brought passion to everything she did. And boy, did she know how to play. Sharon was a bowling champion who took her game seriously and had the trophies to prove it. When she wasn't knocking down pins, she could be found in her garden, watching a good movie, cooking up something delicious, or losing herself in music, one of her greatest joys. She loved life's simple pleasures and had a way of making them feel extraordinary. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth Mucha. She is survived by her son, Shawn Esperanza; her daughters, Sonia Herberger and Gina Richardson; and a circle of family and friends who will carry her memory forward with love. A private family gathering will be held on Saturday, August 22nd. Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and always dear.
