About Scarlett LaNetta Lattin Crum

Scarlett LaNetta Lattin Crum, 81, passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

She was born in San Francisco, California on November 20, 1944. Scarlett was an only child adopted to Irene & Elmer Lattin with two half brothers on her dad’s side and later in life learning of her three half siblings on her birth mother’s side. Scarlett graduated from Mesa High School in 1963 and shortly thereafter the Royal College of Beauty.

She was married to Jack L. Crum in March of 1964 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were lucky to have celebrated over 62 years of marriage.

When she wasn’t doing hair, she was in the office helping Jack & Bob with the books and answering phones in the family plumbing business. She enjoyed her family, grandkids, sewing, reading, quilting, baking bread and listening to good music, especially Elvis.

Scarlett is survived by her spouse, Jack, and three children: Shannon Poulsen, Christopher Crum, Cameron Crum, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

I have such fond memories growing up on 156th Pl with the Crum family. Scarlett would feed all of us hungry boys and she would always have cold Pepsi. As a young boy, I was amazed with her strong work ethic and loved spending time at her home. I may not have recognized it then, but looking back it is clear to me that I loved being in her home because I felt the spirit there. Her home was always clean, organized, and it always smelt like a delicious meal. Scarlett lived a life focused on the love for her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What a wonderful woman! 😊🙏🏻

I worked with Scarlett in the office for many years. Scarlett was a very caring and thoughtful soul. She always looked for special ways to give and to help others. One year she gave me a beautiful planner for my birthday. On October 30, 2006 I wrote in my journal, "The day started with me wearing an orange and black shirt (in honor of my Halloween birthday tomorrow). I was surprised and pleased when Scarlett brought me a nice, decorated cake for the occasion. I shared this with fellow employees who came to me for a piece.". That is how Scarlett was... Always sharing and caring. Best wishes and hope for Jack, Cameron and Chris at this happy/sad time! Kevin Hunt

Such sweet memories I have, I loved riding in the car with Aunt Scarlett as a kid. She would sing along with the radio she had a naturally good singing voice. I remember spending time with them when they lived in Phoenix. Aunt Scarlett always had the best treats (num-a-nums!) Uncle Jack and Aunt Scarlett have always been so generous!! Graduations, missions, weddings etc. Thanks for everything you will be missed 💗 Love, Ruthie

Oh how we love the Uncle Jack and Aunt Scarlett Crum family ❣️ Aunt Scarlett was the one who made my hair look beautiful for every special high school dance and she was happy to do it. I loved her for that and for the happiness she brought to our big Crum Family. I love you Aunt Scarlett 💕

I love you so much mom! I cant see how i could have been loved more than by you, you have been an instrument in just about every part of my life, cooking, cleaning, tithing, loving my family, and being a disciple of our savior Jesus christ, you've taught us kids how to be who we are today. Until we meet again my sweet mother! Thank you❤️🙏
