A Life Remembered

Obituary

Samuel Robinson, 80, passed away April 2, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born in humble circumstances in Phoenix to his mechanically gifted father, Samuel Jerald Robinson, and his hard-working, athletic mother, Flossie Bluth Robinson. Sam was raised with deep pioneer roots to love his siblings, cars, sports, his country, and his faith.

He developed friendships at an early age that continued throughout his life. These friends, who have been a source of strength and support over the years, were drawn to Sam by his incredible love for others. His stories of these friendships and the many others he subsequently made were typically recounted with pleasure.

He valued his education, excelled in his profession, and continued through his career to influence countless people. With his kindly focused attention and warm smile, he had a unique ability to make others feel seen and appreciated. Every family member, neighbor, friend, associate, and colleague knew of his love.

Sam led an exemplary life of service to others, from a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to multiple callings in the Church. One of these callings led him to meet his devoted wife, Susan. They raised a beautiful family of four daughters and a son who watched and learned from him. His love of nature caused him to build an isolated cabin without electricity where the family could stargaze in wonder and thrill to the sounds and sights of the nature.

He taught his family to love the Savior. He loved the scriptures himself and shared his testimony with his children and grandchildren. He found so much joy in his posterity, and his legacy lives on in them. Sam is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Robinson; his daughters, Cari Owen, Andra Rail, Susanna Ning, Amber Robinson; a son, Taylor Robinson, and 16 3/4 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held April 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4225 North 56th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

In memory of Sams love and generosity and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in the form of kind deeds and acts of service. Consider—as Sam would have—giving someone a burrito or being a friend.
