A Life Remembered
Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we mourn the sudden passing of Ronald Eugene Smith (68) of Mesa, Arizona on May 30 th , 2021. Born January 6 th , 1953, in Orange, California, he lived the first 65 years of his life in his beloved Orange County. Predeceased by his parents, Rex and Lorraine Smith, Ron is survived by his sister, Pamela Morrison of Mesa, Arizona, nephew, Jeffery Nadeau and his wife, Sarah, of Peoria, Arizona, nephew, Timothy Nadeau of Phoenix, Arizona, grandnephew, Austin Nadeau, grandnieces, Chris and Molly Garrett, many cousins, and friends.
Ron never met a stranger. A lifelong thinker and learner, he enjoyed staying current on technology and world events. An avid guitar player, he loved “Open Mic” nights performing with his dear friends in Orange County and just hanging out. In his youth, he was an avid scuba diver, snow skier, and hiker. He also loved to travel the world with family and friends.
His life’s work was in the technology sector where he most recently worked for Oracle Corporation as a Product Strategist. Retiring in 2017, he moved to Mesa, Arizona in late 2018 to be closer to family.
Ron will be deeply missed. His generosity, happy spirit, words of encouragement, and the comfort his presence brought to his family and friends will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.
A celebration of Ron’s life is being planned for later this summer and he will be interred at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, California. Arrangements are being handled by Bunker Family Funerals & Cremation of Mesa, Arizona.
