About Robert Glenn Shields

Glenn Shields passed away Monday, August 24th, at his home in Mesa, AZ. While his passing was sudden, it was not entirely unexpected as he had been dealing with heart issues for some time. He is survived by his children — Nathan Shields, Andre Shields, and Kristen Cowley — along with 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom can testify to his life of hard work, service, and deep faith in God.

We know he is exactly where he wants to be and has desired to be for a long time - with his wife (Marcia Shields, who passed away in 2020), his mother who passed away when he was a baby, his in-laws whom he loved, and brother, grandparents, and cousins he spoke glowingly of. Most importantly, he is now with his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ whom he only desired to serve While on this earth.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2228 E. Brown Rd., Mesa, AZ. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel, www.bunkerfuneral.com. Should this obituary appear anywhere but bunkerfuneral.com, please check our website for accurate details and service information.

Just learned of Glenns passing tonight. I recently left my job at the community where he lived. Even before I knew of his passing .. the past few days Glenn has been on my mind... I was thinking of planting rose bushes and he would be great to advise me.. I was reflecting on so many positive occasions with him..all so special .....he taught me to play pool.. in a fun way! In fact I owed him a game or two... so many amazing conversations we had related to his life, Mission work, family... And Faith ....all so Meaningful and inspiring! There are no words to describe your loss.. My deepest sympathy. Amy Dansevicus
