A Life Remembered

Obituary

Rhonda (Kocinski) Pagan, born June 11, 1960, was called home Monday, July 20, 2026. There to meet her was her father, John Kocinski.

Left to carry on her traditions is her husband, Pedro Pagan, her children, Dana (Scott) Alvidrez, Ivette Pagan, Alejandro Pagan, and Lupe (Luis) Gavino, her mother, Collette Kocinski, and her brothers John (Rae) Kocinski and Steve Kocinski, as well as nine grandchildren, two nephews, and one niece.

In 2001, she married Pedro and they were lucky to have celebrated over 25 years together. She retired as a Medical Records Director in 2022 to travel and spend more time with her family and friends. Rhonda devoted her retirement years to a life of service, including a calling to serve Saint Vincent de Paul and Sisters in Christ.

In her final years, Rhonda faced cancer with incredible strength and grace. Though the disease took much, it never diminished her fighting spirit or the love she shared with those around her. Known for her excellent cooking and baking, giving nature, and positivity, she will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 17, 2026 at 10 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 1534 North Recker Road, Mesa, Arizona.

Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in remembering a woman who touched every person she met and whose love will continue to shine through those she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine (www.cancershrine.org) are suggested.

Arrangements by Bunker’s University Chapel, www.bunkerfuneral.com. Should this obituary appear anywhere but bunkerfuneral.com, please check our website for accurate details and service information.

I had the great privilege of working with Rhonda early in my career, at a time when I was shy, timid, and unsure of myself. From the very beginning, she had a remarkable way of making me feel capable, valued, and confident. Her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering belief in others left a lasting impression on me. I always looked up to Rhonda as a mentor, admiring not only how exceptional she was in her role but also the grace and compassion she showed everyone around her. She truly was a light in this world and will always hold a special place in my heart. God bless you, Rhonda. You made this world a better place, and your legacy will live on in the countless lives you touched.

I worked with Rhonda at McHenry Hospital many years ago. We spent many social engagements together and Dana was at our house often when they lived in Genoa City. Rhonda was such a great friend and although we lost touch when she moved to Arizona I thought of her and Dana often. Rich and I send our condolences to you all and know your memories of her will help in your sorrow at this time.

Have you ever walked. Into a room and the people in the room lite up like a light bulb? Rhonda and Pedro meet these qualifications. What a joy to have the privilege of knowing both. Rhonda is with Jesus. Hebrews 12: 1 Therefore since we are Surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses let us Throw 0f every thing that hinders and the sin that so easily entangled and let us run with perseverance The race marked out for us. This verse shows our loved ones are looking down on us. And watching. Holding you Pedro and family up in prayer
