In Loving Memory of Nancy Ann Southworth

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Southworth on May 22, 2025. Nancy was a radiant soul whose optimism, compassion, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Nancy was a devoted mother, cherished family member, and loyal friend. Her love for her family was boundless, and she nurtured those around her with warmth, wisdom, and grace. Her laughter filled rooms, and her encouragement lifted spirits.

Professionally, Nancy was a dedicated and respected employee, known for her integrity, diligence, and kindness. She approached her work with the same heart she gave to her family and community—fully and faithfully.

A devout Christian, Nancy was an active and beloved member of her church community. Her involvement in ministries such as GriefShare reflected her deep empathy and desire to help others find healing and hope. Her faith was not only spoken but lived, and it guided her every step.

Nancy’s legacy is one of love, service, and joy. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the memories we hold dear.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Karin) Ioia, and daughter, Kira (Richard) Russell; her beloved grandchildren, Kody Ioia, Chelsea (Kevin) Szanto, Austin Ioia, Briana Southworth, Chloe (Calvin) Dietel, and Michael Russell; and her six cherished great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving Mother, Evelyn Berg, Father, William Southworth, and brothers, David Southworth and James Southworth.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held June 7 th , 2025 from 4PM to 8PM at Arya Reception Hall Map . Come celebrate with family and friends. We will be catering food from Olive Garden (one of mom’s favorites) so please RSVP to 1-928-241-4550 (Kira).

In lieu of flowers the family would like charitable contributions to be made to Christ’s Community Church at 1550 W. Chandler Blvd Chandler, AZ 85224, in her honor.( Giving )

Her light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.

I will miss my pool buddy so much this summer. For the past thirteen summers, Nancy and I have been meeting for a swim in the Sunridge community pool in the late afternoons or early evenings. We learned so much about each others lives, families, and friends., talking endlessly while we soaked in the water. Even our dogs became friends, but not at the pool of course. That happened on her many walks with the dogs using her motorized scooter. She and the pups would stop for a visit. Those were wonderful days. “Rest in Peace, Nancy”. I met Nancy’s daughter Kira over a decade ago doing Massage Therapy for her and we became friends. I’ll never forget the day Kira told me “You should meet my Mom, I’m sure you two would hit it off” as Nancy was also in to massage therapy and healing modalities. Sure enough as I started seeing Nancy regularly I got to spend a good deal of time connecting with her. We would discuss the Bible and inspirational stories. Nancy was always so positive and kind. She loved her family dearly. She would tell me about her children and Grandchildren and the hopes and dreams she had for them. I would always tell her I loved her, as I truly did. I am so thankful for our time and talks all these years. I know she is with the Good Lord and is dancing free. Nancy will always hold a special place in my heart. Until we meet again sweet Nancy

I worked with Nancy (same place, different offices) for many years. Nancy’s always upbeat, laughing attitude was so enjoyable. When we talked about her service to others, I was always humbled and determined to be more giving. Nancy worked in the library at MCC and I was her favorite contact at the district office. She was a diligent worker and quite a perfectionist. She called me with questions, and errors she found, and suggested corrections. A lot. I nicknamed her LP because she was such a little pain. She quickly graduated to BP (Big Pain) and I called her that forever after. Rest in Peace BP
