About Michael Glee Reynolds
Michael Glee Reynolds, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 72 after a four-year battle with lymphoma.
He was born on June 20, 1953, in Silver City, New Mexico. He was the sixth of seven children born to Amasa Orvil Reynolds and Betty Jean Miller. The family lived in Luna, New Mexico, until 1956 when they left the White Mountains and moved to Mesa. He had a great love for his family, his siblings, and his family’s heritage and connection to the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona and New Mexico.
Mike attended Lincoln Elementary, Mesa Junior High, and graduated from Mesa High School in 1971. He was always proud to be a Mesa High Jackrabbit. He excelled in sports, playing football at Mesa High and basketball and softball with his church teams. His love for sports continued throughout his life as he enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids at their games and to cheer on all of the Arizona sports teams.
As a young man, Mike served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kansas-Missouri Mission. He had a love for the Midwest and was grateful for the time he spent there and for the people he met and served.
Professionally, Mike worked for 20 years for Taylor Brothers, a local food distributor, advancing in both sales and management. In later years, he worked for CVS and also as a school bus driver. He loved to bring treats to the kids on his route for holidays and special occasions.
Mike will be remembered for his kindness and generosity, always wanting to buy gifts for others even when money was tight for himself. We will also miss his sense of humor, especially his “dad jokes.” He often joked with the nurses at the hospital and while on Hospice, trying to lighten the mood when things were tough. We will remember his huge wardrobe of Nike shoes and Polo shirts, always wanting to match and dress nicely no matter where he was going. We will miss watching sports with him and cheering on our favorite teams. We are grateful for the time we had with him in this life and look forward to the day we will be reunited again.
Mike is survived by his four children and their spouses, Crystal (Kett) Blatter, Jared (Carly), Tyler (Katie), and Preston and his 13 grandchildren, Cannon, Keirlee, Abby, Spencer, Ethan, Owen, Jack, Archer, Ellie, Annie, Sasha, Rex, and Kate. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Penny (Tony) Cordeiro, his sister-in-law, Debi Reynolds, and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Donna, Enid, and Linda, and his brothers Miller and Richard.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 12:00 pm at the Luna Cemetery in Luna, New Mexico.
We are so grateful to Hospice of the Valley for the kindness and care they gave our dad in his final months of life, especially his nurse, Rebecca, and his social worker, Debi. We are also so thankful for the amazing care he received from the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Valley’s Friendship Village Inpatient Care Home during his final week.
