A Life Remembered

Obituary

Mark Edward Glover Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, outdoorsman and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ passed peacefully into eternity surrounded by the love of his family on May 20, 2026.

Mark was born on November 23, 1953, in Evansville, Indiana to Harry and Patricia Glover. In 1956, his family moved to Mesa, AZ, where Mark developed a lifelong love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, sports, and adventure. He was known for his unforgettable stories, mischievous spirit, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family.

Mark married Ann Swenson, the love of his life, for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple on February 1, 1974, and built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, service, and devotion to one another. Together they shared fifty-two years of marriage, eight children, thirty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mark was an entrepreneur who worked in import and export, filmmaking, photography and ultimately spent thirty-five years serving others through the tire and mechanic industry. He was known for his honesty, generosity, and quiet acts of kindness toward those in need.

A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mark faithfully served in many callings throughout his life, including Bishop and Stake President. He loved the people he served and sought to follow the Savior through quiet compassion, service, and sacrifice.

More than anything, Mark will be remembered for his love for his wife Ann, his devotion to his family, his adventurous spirit and his steadfast testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and eternal families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Patricia, his brother Terry, his son Mark, granddaughter Kara, grandson Bennett and a great grandson. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann; seven of their children; Eleanor (David), Scott (Stacie), David (Kylie), Alicia (Adrian), Holly (Ray), Chris (Trista) and Ryan; thirty-three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and countless loved ones and friends whose lives were blessed by his example.

Mark’s funeral will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 10AM at the LDS Stake Center located at 1050 South Hobson, Mesa, AZ 85204. A viewing will be held there the night before from 6pm-8pm and one hour prior to the funeral. The graveside service at the City of Mesa Cemetery will take place at 2pm the day of the funeral.

Although he will be missed deeply, his family finds peace in his testimony that through Jesus Christ, families can be together forever.

Sweet Annie, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mark. You were dear friends throughout our high school years and beyond. You both touched my life as well as so many others. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. ❤️

Shelley and I were able to participate in yesterday's service via zoom.. such a wonderful tribute to Mark who has exceptional children and grandchildren. We enjoyed being neighbors across the street for seven years and the memories shared with Mark and Ann. Playing softball, house boat memories for a week on Lake Mead, the rook games we played with the men not having a clue how the ladies were winning by their clever secret signals. Mark spoke at Shelley's brother's... Jack Stradling's funeral several years ago. I mentioned to him at the funeral what an honor it was for him to be asked to apeak and he humbly replied it was an honor. The Lord uses those who knows how to do his work and that sums up who Mark is. The Lord is still using using Mark with his many talents, skills and his understanding of the gospel as he begins his new adventures. Love you guys. Gary and Shelley

Ann, Floyd emailed me about Mark, I am so sorry about your loss, he was one of the nicest men I’ve ever met, and I don’t think Floyd could have gotten a better guy as his Best man as he got with Mark! I pray you and your family are in God’s hands protecting you! I’m praying for you all! Sherry

Goodbye to a good friend, fishing and hunting partner. A man of faith, a bishop, and stake president. One who helped me in the faith and mentor. See you on the other side good bubby.

To Mark's family, my heart is saddened to read of your dad's passing. I knew him a lifetime ago in high school. He was a great guy.

Our family moved away from Arizona when my siblings and I were still little, so Arizona was our family’s Shangri-La. A mythical place filled with almost unimaginable fun and people who loved us. Mark was one of those larger than life people in Arizona that made it so special. He was a guy that seemed so intimidating, until you talked to him. I appreciate Mark’s friendship with my dad. I think he was one of my dad’s heroes. When I think about Mark, the first thing that always comes to mind is how excited he was to see me losing my hair. I really love that guy and I’m sorry he’s gone. I wish I could be at his funeral

I had the privilege and blessing to work with Mark in the temple for years. He taught me how to love more, and to serve more. He came to visit me at my home when I had a health need. Mark saw others as our Savior sees others through eyes of love and kindness. We will meet again someday… To Ann and the Glover family my sincere love and heart to you at this time and season.
David Mason May 28, 2026
Mark and I shared several years of church service together in the Mesa stake. We developed a close rapport. I learned to love and appreciate him for his commitment to the gospel. We will miss him.
