Marion Lou Fasking Iserman

Marion Lou Fasking Iserman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026 at the age of 94. As in life, she was surrounded at her passing by the love of her family.

Marion’s journey in this world began on January 6, 1932, in Paxton, Illinois. She was the fourth child to George Gerhart Fasking and Gladys Marie Bulger. After losing her father at the young age of 5, Marion was raised by her mother in Gibson City, IL, along with siblings Margaret, Walter, and Shirley. Marion was a bright, energetic and fun-loving teenager who enjoyed school, summers life guarding at the city pool, and serving as Drummer Township’s High School’s choice for Homecoming Queen.

Marion married John Phillip Pierce in Gibson City in 1950. They had 4 children, John Phillip Jr., Gary Leonard, Kathleen Kay, and Leigh Ann, before moving to Mesa, AZ in 1960. Soon after, Marion’s marriage to John ended in divorce. In 1964, Marion married Fred Clayton Iserman, and this blended family was blessed with son, Brian (1 year) and in 1965 youngest son, Lance. Marion’s marriage to Fred ended in divorce in 1985.

During this time, Marion applied her aptitude and a great work ethic inherited from her mom into a successful career in Banking. She got her start in 1950 at Gibson Federal Savings and Loan in Illinois and then in 1960 at First Federal Savings/MeraBank in Arizona, before retiring as Assistant Vice President in 1985. During this time, she played a critical role transitioning operations into the “computer” age. After retiring from banking, Marion co-owned and managed a model home cleaning business until she retired for good, selling her interest in that business.

In 1998, Marion was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, devoting her retirement years to a life of service, including a calling to serve as Relief Society President. She loved serving others. In her final years, Marion faced Dementia with grace and dignity. Though the disease took many memories, it never diminished the love she shared with those around her, especially her family.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret, her brothers Walter and George (passed in infancy), and her oldest child, John Pierce. She is survived by her sister Shirley Fasking Jackson, of Gibson City, with whom she remained very close traveling between Mesa and Gibson City to spend time together.

Marion leaves behind a large and loving posterity: 6 Children, 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, all who will continue her legacy of love, faith and following Christ.

Services will be held at the Northridge Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2424 N. Old Gilbert Road, on Saturday, August 1st at 11:00am. There will also be a service in Gibson City, IL on Saturday, August 29th, and she will be laid to rest at the Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City, next to her parents and siblings.
