A Life Remembered

Obituary

Lloyd Philip Ryan, age 68, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, surrounded by family members at the home where he lived his entire life.

Born on September 1,1957, at Southside Hospital, Mesa, Arizona, he is the third son of Merle Calvin Ryan and Anneta Foote Ryan.

He was a graduate of Westwood High School. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he faithfully fulfilled his assignments and especially enjoyed working with the activity days of the young scouts.

He retired early, after 35 years, from custodial services at Mesa Lutheran Hospital and Banner Gateway Medical Center, which enabled him to be a great help to his mother in her later years. At the job, he was recognized for his dependable attendance and dedicated work. He was known for his helping hand and especially for his great, hearty laugh. He was loved by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He loved time and activities with his two brothers, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. Lloyd is survived by his brothers, Dennis Merle Ryan and Keith Duane Ryan, 10 favorite nieces and nephews, and 38 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 great-nephew and 1 great-niece. Lloyd will be laid to rest in the City of Mesa Cemetery adjacent to his parents.

A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Beverly Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1054 W 2nd Place, Mesa, Arizona 85201. The service will be followed immediately by refreshments and visiting in the Cultural Hall, because that’s what Lloyd would like.
