Leander (Lee) Zastrow, 68, passed away on June 21st, 2024, in Scottsdale, AZ. He was born in 1956 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He was the 2nd of 7 children to Beryl and Edmund Zastrow.

He was preceded in death by his brother Gary, father Edmund, and mother Beryl.

He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Maria, their 5 children Brenda Zastrow (Dustin Wilcox), Adam Zastrow, Amanda (Dru) Combs, Bonnie (Jake) Wallert, Christopher Zastrow, 9 grandchildren Zachary (Abby) Zastrow, Gabriel and Claire Greer, Aiden Wilcox, Vincent and Anna Combs, Zane and Zavier Wallert, Connor Zastrow, and 1 great-grandchild Zoey Zastrow. 5 brothers and sisters Rene (Daryl) Ison, Neal (Sara) Zastrow, Dale Zastrow, Heidi (Jim) Nordstrom, Dana Zastrow, 1 sister-in-law Evie Tucci along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Lee grew up in Rhinelander, attending Zion Lutheran Elementary School, and Rhinelander High School. There, he met and married his wife, Maria. Shortly after, they moved to Arizona where they started their family. He worked as a carpenter building houses. He then moved to woodworking for design companies. He spent 37 years working at Studio Productions, where he made many lifelong friends. He was currently working at Arcadia Windows and Doors, where he again found many new, close friends.

Over the years, Lee loved working on his train sets. As time went on his grandchildren grew to love trains too. He loved camping, fishing, golfing, bowling, and baking. Aside from the yearly camping trips with his family, he also enjoyed gold panning trips with his close friend. He enjoyed baking many different things, but will be most remembered for his fry cakes.

The family had a private viewing on Thursday, June 27th at Bunker University Chapel.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at 11am at St. Lukes Lutheran Church 807 N. Stapley Dr. Mesa, AZ 85203.
