Lance Richard Cummard

Lance Richard Cummard was called home too soon on January 10, 2026, at his home in Mesa, Arizona. There to meet him were his father, David, and his grandparents, Blain and Geraldine Cummard, and Milo and Wanda LeBaron.

He enjoyed careers in insurance, pest control, and handyman services, but his true love was coaching basketball. He was mentored into coaching by legendary coach Shawn Lynch, whom Lance deeply loved and admired.

Born on May 13, 1981, Lance is survived by his mother, Cheryl; his daughter, Ellie (Trey Malcolm); and his five brothers: David (Syd), Jon (Summer), Stephen (Crystal), Parker (Kanoe), and Lee (Sarah), along with many others who love and miss their Uncle Lala.

Lance was a lifelong learner who served anyone and everyone. In lieu of donations or flowers, the family asks that you follow his example and perform a kind act of service for someone.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, 1/23/2026, at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – 920 S Lindsay Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204
