About Katherine Hinz

In Loving Memory of Kate Luketich Hinz (August 1982- April 2026)

- celebration of life details at the bottom 🤍

Katherine (Kate) Therese Hinz, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away after her long battle with a chronic lung and heart disease at Banner Baywood hospital in Mesa, Arizona, on April 13, 2026, at 4:45 am, where she was surrounded by her husband, children, parents, and siblings. She was 43 years old.

Kate was born on August 23, 1982, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Lisa A Luketich and Craig M Luketich. She attended Mendoza Elementary School, Shepherd Junior High, Mountain View High School, and Arizona Institute for Business and Technology, where she found her love for medicine and passion to heal others through her medical assistant degree. Katherine was a one-of-a-kind soul who always had a way with words. She had a naturally brilliant mind who knew the ins and outs of the medical system, she was always the one to seek when you needed advice or a helping hand when it came to other people.

Coming from a very big family, Kate had a knack for being your instinct comfort person and your biggest cheerleader in every aspect of life. She was always the first person to make you smile or laugh in a time when you didn’t realize it was possible. Being your friend was her biggest aspiration in life and your greatest gift, she lived with the purpose to celebrate others and inspire those around her.

Kate was deeply devoted to her career as a nurse where she gave back to those around her for nearly 22 years. Her enthusiasm inside the workplace lightened every room and her knowledge of medicine was both widely admired and often encouraged. She loved her career as a nurse almost as much as she loved her second full time career of being a stay-at-home mom to her 4 beautiful children. Kate taught, loved, and encouraged her children every day to grow into the lifelong memory of her kind and bright spirit.

Kate loved the people in her life with all her heart but the one person who not only completed her but turned her world is her lifelong partner, her Husband Jacob D Hinz of almost 23 years. Kate and Jacob had the sort of love that made your heads turn and a story to follow, she was the most proud and passionate person when it came to her love, it was her greatest strength and most honorable characteristic. No matter what Kate enjoyed whether it was blasting music in her car and taking a drive with her daughters, binging movies till the wee hours of the morning with her youngest son, being the biggest fan in the stands at her oldest sons baseball games, or going on dinner dates with her husband Kate did it all with love, everything she did and has always done stemmed from her bigger than life heart, her love was what she wished to give to those who meant the world to her.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob D Hinz; her children, Hailey, Paige, Colin, and Gavin Hinz; her bonus daughter Alexianna Werblow; her parents, Lisa A Luketich and Craig M Luketich, her brother, Michael Luketich; and her sister Killeen Luketich. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Barbra Luketich and Donald Luketich.

The family would like to express their love and gratitude to all of Kate’s closest family and friends who have always stood with her through every stage of her life, especially her dearest friend Danielle Gunn who was more like a sister to her. Danielle was Kate’s oldest and most cherished friend, her best friend even.

• The celebration of life will be held for Kate’s closest family and friends at Mesa Community Recreational Center on Saturday April 25, 2026, from 10am-1pm. The rooms where her celebration will be held is in Mesquite Rooms A and B 7550 E Adobe St, Mesa, AZ 85207
