A Life Remembered
Obituary
Judith “Judi” Farganus, 82, died suddenly on June 3, 2026.
Born on December 18, 1943, in Rock Falls, Illinois, she was the daughter of Ronald L. Renner and Julia A. (Schick) Renner.
Judi dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse, serving at the Maricopa County Jail and Maricopa Integrated Health System. She will be remembered for her compassion, steady presence, and the many lives she touched through her work.
She was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on her local teams, both professional and college. Judi also enjoyed traveling the world and treasured trips to Europe, Australia, and South America. She found great joy in photographing birds, other wildlife, and the Salt River wild horses, spending many peaceful hours with her camera and her love of nature.
Judi was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Mesa, where her faith was an important part of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Karas of East Bethel, Minnesota; her sons, Jeff Farganus of Mesa, Arizona, and David Farganus of Fruita, Colorado; her brother, John Renner of Sterling, Illinois; and her sister, Tanya Brockmeyer and her husband, Paul. She was also a proud grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of nine.
She had a way of bringing people together wherever she went. She could sit at a table with people she knew and some she did not, but by the end of the afternoon she had them listening to her jokes and corny puns. Her warmth, wit, and easy smile made others feel welcome in her presence.
