Very sorry to hear of Jonathan’s passing. I hope that time can heal your loss and may he rest in peace.

A year or so after i turned 18 and was still living in CT, Jon invited me to spend a long weekend with him where he was living in NY. The first night, after getting settled, Jon made hamburgers and milkshakes for us. The next day we went into town and had a chance to get into the audience for Saturday Night Live, but Jon didn’t want to wait so instead we went to a club he knew, and we danced with pretty girls until pretty late. Finally, on the third day, we went to a lodge he’d picked out and went skiing, my first and only time, where Jon had a great time but it was so cold, I nearly froze and escaped from breaking my leg only by a hair when i crashed into a tree. Jon was very kind and understanding and I think we ended up that day in a great lounge at the lodge sitting around an open fire, where I practically fell asleep, until we finally went back to our room. It was a great weekend and I’ll always remember Jon that way, since it was the first time I ever felt like I had a big brother. Anyway, you’ll never be forgotten, Jon – at least not as long as those like me who’ve loved you live. Godspeed, my brother. Save me a place up there, okay? – Lots of love, Dave ❤️

Jon, Joe, Mike and I have been brothers since grade school and high school and have remained good friends ever since (for over sixty years). Mike and I visited with Jon earlier this year and we knew that he was battling cancer. I’m so very sorry to hear of Jon’s passing. May God bless Jon’s soul. Our condolences go out to the entire Bliven family.

The world has lost one of the most kindest and highly intellectual men of our time. Jon was a visionary and the man who wanted to be part of the change of human life. He was more than a friend and a consul to those who knew him. I offer my condolences to his daughter and family and his extended knowledge seekers family around the world who admired and loved him and his work to expand the frontiers of space and knowledge.
