Henry Richard (Dick) Gustafson, 78 passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Dick’s life was characterized by his unfailing optimism and faith. He had a passion for playing sports, watching his children and grandchildren compete/perform in various activities, and watching BYU sports.  Dick loved many things including road trips, motorcycles, semi-trucks, trains, leather working, and music; however, his greatest joys in life were his family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen, his children Simon, Jake, Kary, Jess, Jody, Danny, Robyn, 28 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

A viewing will be held February 18th from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ.  The funeral will be February 19th at 10:30 AM, preceded by a visitation at 9:30 AM at the LDS church at 1455 N. Harris Dr., Mesa, AZ. There will be a graveside service on Monday, February 24 at 11 AM at 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd., Sandy, UT.

    The GUSTAFSON FAMILY were our GOOD friends for many years. WE LOVED THEM AND MISS THEM. MY husband passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11th and their funerals were the same day, Wednesday the 18th at the same time. I hope they had a great reunion together. WE MISS YOU and LUV U!!!!

  • Many great memories of the Gustafson family and especially Dick. He made a wonderful impression on me at an early age and I owe him more than he would have known. Dick and his family were very good to the Cook’s and always treated us well during some difficult years. He was always a great friend to my dad and that was rare. Wishing peace for Karen and the entire family.
