A Life Remembered

Obituary

Gregory Lorentz Zaborosky

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gregory Lorentz Zaborosky, at the age of 55, on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

He lived a life treasuring his family. He called his parents Luke & Phyllis daily to check in on them and show his love for them. He was a devoted provider and protector to his wife Amber Chapil. A loving & supportive father to Brock and Jessica. A supportive brother to his sister Brenda, and lastly, he treasured his time with his fury best friend Dexter.

Greg grew up in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. He was dedicated to protecting and serving his community, this lead him to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), with troop training beginning on June 21, 1995 and graduated January 8, 1996. He excelled as an RCMP member providing his 25 years of service within his home province of Manitoba, Canada. He had many accomplishments throughout his distinguished career, with a final rank of Sargent. Greg gained many valued friendships with fellow troopmates and members, which he maintained during and after his retirement. He was a loyal friend with a heart of gold.

It was during his career in 2006 with the RCMP at his posting in Traffic Services in Selkirk, Manitoba where he met Amber, who was a clerk at the municipal detachment. Greg not only found his soulmate with Amber but became a dad to both Jessica and Brock. He treasured his role as a provider, protector, and mentor to his family. His unwavering love, guidance and support were the foundation that shaped Amber, Jessica and Brock’s lives, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion, strength and unity. As a devoted father, he stepped up to coach Brock’s hockey team. He would wake up early every Saturday morning to take Jessica to figure skating. His dedication to both of his children was unmatched, ensuring that they knew he loved them and would protect them for the rest of their life.

Greg will be lovingly remembered by his wife Amber Chapil; daughter Jessica Chapil; son Brock Chapil; parents Lorentz (Luke) & Phyllis Zaborosky; sister Brenda Brown (Randy); nephew Kayl Brown; Mother-in-Law Maggie Chapil; Sister-in-laws Cynthia & Angela; as well as numerous extended family and lifelong friends.

Greg was predeceased by his loving sister Kimberley Bahniuk, and his grandparents. His sister Kimmy was waiting for him, and now they are reunited.
