His High School senior picture quoted “As good a sport as you’re likely to meet.” We that knew Fred can add the word FRIEND to that quote. My bet is that Fred never changed throughout his life. Just one GREAT GUY…!!!

My prayers to his family. Fred was a neighbor back in1958 (Knabb Drive) and would give me rides to HHS. Always thoughtful and kind.

Judy—our family was always very proud to have Fred associated with our chapels during his time with us. Fred was a man of great integrity who made us and the industry very proud to know him.

Fred was a devoted husband and father. He was also a very hard working funeral professional and helped to shape my own work ethic when he managed our family’s firm. He was strict but fair and in many ways was responsible for the success of Melcher’s. I will miss him.
