About Emily Kathryne Blau

Emily Kathryne Blau (62) passed away on March 11th, 2026 in Mesa, AZ. Emily was born February 9th, 1964 to Terry and Jean Stone in Douglas, AZ. She is survived by her husband, Duane Blau, her eleven children, twelve grandchildren, and her two younger brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents who she has missed dearly for far too long.

Emily wore many hats during her time here on Earth. She was a mother, wife, granny, daughter, sister, writer, adventurer, creator, provider, fixer, giver, follower of Christ, and friend. Though she was most proud of her roles as a mother, an artist, and a nurse practitioner (DNP).

From volunteering in India, to serving communities in Vanuatu, Emily’s impact spanned across oceans. She led with pure Christlike love, constantly in service of others. Emily had a creative and brilliant mind, healing hands, and a laugh that was pure sunshine. She will be deeply missed, and her influence in all our lives can never be replaced.

There was no project too big for her and no problem she wasn’t able to solve with hard work and ingenuity. Though she is not physically here anymore, her joyful light lives on in all of the hearts she touched and the lives she changed.

A viewing will be held on 3/20/26 from 6-8pm at 977 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204.

My deepest condolences to Emilys' family and friends. She was an inspiration to me. She was a go to for any questions/concerns. I will miss working with her overnights as on call provider. As well as following her beautiful stained glass projects. Warm hugs to you all.

Sending much love to entire family. When I worked nights with her on call she and I would not always talk what pt needs. She was inspiring and we had great spiritual talks about death and dying. It is very sad but knowing her she is at peace and happy Melanie RN at HOV☮️💟

We met Emily on February 22nd, 2026 for the first time. Her son Elliot is my granddaughter's significant other, and we were invited to come to meet Emily and the family. She welcomed us with open arms and we had the privilege of meeting many other family members. She had a huge feast prepared and insisted we eat and then we were invited to the backyard to enjoy conversation with her and the family. It was all pretty amazing and memorable. We were stunned by her death, but we know that though our meeting was brief, she has left a lasting memory. You are all in our prayers and we are thankful you have many memories to give you comfort in the days ahead.
