Obituary

Dolpha Coleman, 84, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona. Dolpha loved her children and grandchildren and was an avid supporter of their endeavors. A talented musician and performer, she enjoyed organizing and participating in musical and dramatic productions. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the Savior. Some of her favorite activities were singing, shopping, gardening, and playing games with family and friends.

Dolpha was preceded in death by her husband Ed, four sisters, and one brother. She is survived by one brother, Anthony Farr; seven children, Ed (Merla) Coleman, Toni (Randy) Pearson, Sydney (Brett) Applegate, Daren (Colleen) Coleman, Kelland Coleman, Kristen (Dave) Perez, and Candace (Thomas Jacob) Coleman; 26 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren, which number is subject to change any day.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Grandview 2 nd Ward, 925 North Harris Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85203, with a visitation beginning two hours prior to the service at 9:00am.

I have such fond memories of Dolpha her and I had a love of music and i remember being in her house playing piano and organ and singing My kids also loved to look at her frogs and on halloween they loved to go because she would dress up as a mummy Dolpha is one of a kind and now she gets to be reunited with her sweetheart i ❤her tons

I was just a young girl in the Mesa 9th Ward many years ago but I remember Dolpha well. My mother, Meryl Hale, was also very musical and I remember Dolpha coming over and they would work on music together for some church event. Usually mom was playing and Dolpha was singing. Even at a tender age I remember thinking what a beautiful voice she had. My deepest condolences to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dolpha was a gentle and kind woman, and very talented on the keyboard and as a singer! As a young boy I remember her playing the organ for several years in the 9th Ward with my dad (Floyd Denton) as the chorister. Dolpha got me started on the 9th Ward organ as well. Good memories. Miss her!
