Obituary
Connie Mae Huenergardt, went Home to be with Her Lord on July 3rd, 2021 (Age 74) after a battle with cancer. She was the first of seven children born from the marriage of George C. (Sr) and Caroline Perkins in Miami Arizona. She was the beloved Wife of the late William Huenergardt Jr. Connie is survived by her Mother, Caroline “Mama” and Sisters, Georgina Robinson (Manuel) and Mae Calamos (John). Connie was preceded in death by her Brother – Gary Perkins, Father- George Perkins Sr., Brother – George Perkins Jr., Sister – Carol Ann Perkins, Sister – Katherine Maldonado (Frank). Known as “Aunt Connie” by many, she loved and mentored numerous Nieces and Nephews (including Greats & Great-Greats) as well as many colleagues and friends.
In life Connie served as a project manager for numerous engineering firms, and more importantly as the Director of Property and Supply (Purchasing/Procurement) for the Gila River Indian Community. Connie was an enrolled Member of the Tribal Community. In retirement Connie assumed the most important roll of her life, that as the caregiver to her Mother. Connie bravely continued with her mission, even as She battled the cancer that ultimately claimed her life. Connie was a devout Christian who shared her Faith with everyone She met through her testimony, actions, and love. Aside from her immediate Family, she also leaves behind her Church Family at the First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes. All are invited to celebrate Connie’s life through the services listed above.
