About Connie Lou Davidson
Our dear sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved friend, Connie Lou Davidson, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Our hearts are heavy with her passing, but we are grateful beyond words for the beautiful life she lived, the love she gave, and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
Connie Lou was born on November 23, 1940, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Clyde and Roma Anderson. She grew up in Thatcher and graduated from Grace High School in 1959. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, where she earned an associate degree in Education. While at Ricks, she was a member of the drill team and was proud to be a Vikidette.
Mom had an adventurous spirit and a willingness to work hard. Some of her favorite memories came from summers she spent working at a dude ranch in Moose, Wyoming, alongside her mother, Roma, and her sister, Ann Marie. Those summers were filled with hard work, beautiful scenery, and experiences that she treasured throughout her life.
On August 24, 1961, Connie married her sweetheart, Gary L. Davidson, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. Together, Mom and Dad built a life centered on their family, their faith, and a love of adventure. They raised their family of six kids in Ammon, Idaho until 1986 and then moved to Mesa, Arizona.
While Dad was finishing his degree at Utah State University, Mom and Dad lived at Hardware Ranch in Blacksmith Fork Canyon. Dad worked the fields that provided feed for the hundreds of elk that gathered at the ranch each winter. Mom embraced ranch life as well, bottle-feeding the deer and taking care of the horses. It was hard work, but it was also a wonderful and memorable chapter in their young marriage. Their willingness to work hard, enjoy the adventure, and make the most of whatever life brought them became a pattern throughout their lives together.
Throughout her life, Mom served others through her work and her faith. She worked as a secretary at Hillview Elementary School in Ammon, Idaho, and later worked with blind students at Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona. She also served as the secretary for Mountain View Seminary for 18 years, where she touched the lives of many students and families.
Her testimony of Jesus Christ was at the center of her life. Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and devoted countless hours to serving in the Church. She played the organ for more than 60 years, using her musical talent to bless others. She was also a member of the Arizona Mormon Choir, where she shared her love of music and her testimony through song.
Mom and Dad had a great love for missionary work and for serving together. In 2008, they served as missionaries in the Billings Montana Mission. Mom later served another mission in 2016, working in the Scottsdale Arizona Mission office. Her life was a wonderful example of quiet, consistent service.
But of all the things Mom accomplished, nothing meant more to her than her family.
Mom and Dad were blessed with six children: Kirt Davidson – Mesa, Arizona, Wade Davidson (Robin) – Veil, Arizona, Vicki Leach (Kevin) – Kimberly, Idaho, Wendi Darley (Lance) – Brigham City, Utah, Mark Davidson (Amy) – Mesa, Arizona, and Cristi Kool (David) Goodyear, Arizona. Their family grew to include 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each one deeply loved by Mom.
She was proud of her children and grandchildren and loved watching her family grow. She treasured family gatherings, playing cards around the table, camping trips, fishing trips, snowmobiling, holidays, and all of the ordinary moments that become extraordinary because they are shared with the people we love.
When we think of Mom, we will remember her beautiful faith and her love for the Savior. We will remember the sound of her playing the piano and the organ. We will remember her pies, rolls, scones, and big pancakes. We will remember her teasing Dad about catching more fish. We will remember camping trips where the kitchen seemed almost as big as the campsite and where Dutch oven chicken, cheesy potatoes, and peach cobbler somehow appeared from a few coals and Mom’s magic touch.
But most of all, we will remember her love.
Mom taught us by example that faith is something we live every day. She taught us to serve, to work hard, to love our families, to enjoy the beauty of God’s creations, and to find happiness in simple things. She showed us that a life of service can touch generations.
We are grateful for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and for the knowledge Mom held so dearly—that families can be eternal and that because of the Savior, death is not the end. We find comfort knowing that Mom’s faithful life has prepared her for the next step in her eternal journey. We look forward to the day when we will see her again.
Until then, her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched.
We love you, Mom. We will miss your laugh, your cooking, your music, your teasing, your hugs, and the way you made everyone feel loved. Thank you for giving us a lifetime of memories and for showing us what it means to have faith, serve others, love your family, and follow the Savior.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, at the Adobe Church, 745 N. Val Vista Dr., Mesa, AZ. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 AM with a graveside service immediately following in the City of Mesa Cemetery.
