Betty Joan Bendure

So sorry to hear that such a wonderful woman has passed. I loved working with Betty at Holmes and Irving.

She is a most gracious person. I enjoyed visiting with her. Condolences to Leanna, Tim and my cousin Russell.

No matter what the circumstance, Betty had an uplifting word to share. She loved what she did, and did it well…with a smile. It was a privilege to serve with her during our years together as elementary school principals. Her presence on his earth will be missed. My prayers are with her family.

Betty Bendure was a truly great person who cared about community and family throughout her life. When she semi-retired from Mesa Public Schools she became a true community leader serving on the East Valley Adult Resources Board of Directors on and off for over 20 years. Recently she was given the title of Board Emeritus which has only be bestowed on one other person, Eldon Cooley. During her time on the Board she chaired many committees, i.e., Strategic Planning, Friends, etc. She was the President of the Board on two different occasions, 1999 and 2006. She was always a positive influence and brought forth a sense of accomplishment for Board members at every meeting. I was fortunate to be the CEO during this time frame and she and I were not only colleagues, but friends. She was always willing to meet and discuss directions, new programs, etc. We also shared the love the books invertible our conversations would end up on the topic sharing a new author or book we had read. Betty ranks as one of my top ten favorite people of all times. I shall never forget her or her positive spirit.
