Obituary

Betty J.O. Allen, 89, passed peacefully away on Friday, April 19, 2019. She was born on September 12, 1929 to James Orland Shellington and Almeda Gertrude Scott. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to the East Central States. She married George Wilden Allen on September 5, 1953 in the Mesa, AZ temple. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends, and she worked for years at Milano Music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and is survived by her children Jeanette (Jim) Langford, Jim (Kathy) Allen, John (Alison) Allen, and Jennifer (Mark) Wagner, seventeen grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. A family graveside service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Mesa City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian or Missionary fund in memory of Betty J.O. Allen.
