About Barbara Allene Hartman

Barbara Allene Hartman, 84, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Ephrata, Washington, passed away on April 10, 2026.

Barbara was born in Tampa, Florida on September 3rd, 1941 to Viola Allene and Minor Preston Bright. Viola later divorced and married Henry Lee Beebe who raised Barbara and her siblings where her name eventually changed to Barbara Allene Beebe.

She later married the love love of her life, George Philip Hartman in Stites, Idaho. Together, in Ephrata Washington, they raised three children: Terrilee Ann, Steven Philip and Jonathan Daniel. Barbara was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding numerous leadership positions.

She was an accomplished ballet dancer and received her Pointe Shoes at the age of 58. She enjoyed gospel study, reading, nurturing her numerous plants, family history research, and creating quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 67 years, George “Phil” Hartman; their three children (and spouses): Terrilee A. Hartman, Steven P. Hartman (Teresa), Jonathan D. Hartman (Barbara); Grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jaren) Hartman, Starr (Sheldon) Uchytil, Emaree (Dallin) Dayes, Joseph Hartman, Joshua Hartman, Jacob Hartman, Steven Hartman, Aleigha Hartman, Kyriane Hartman, Rebecca (Dallin) Fish, Jessica (Cornelious) Cox, Hannah Ellis, Bryan Ellis, Aaron Ellis, and Zoe Ellis. Great-grandchildren: KT and Trixie Cox, Owen, Wyatt and Abby Fish, and Mina Uchytil. Her sisters: Mary Cady, Linda Harris and Katherine Osborn. She is preceded in death by her brother Preston Beebe and granddaughter Amanda Laree Hartman.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 4:00-5:00pm, preceded by a visitation from 3:00-4:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7145 E. Monterey Ave. Mesa, AZ 85209. Bunker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Interment will be at the Ephrata, Washington Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting at 11AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1301 Division Ave. E, Ephrata, WA.
