Janice was the first child of Dallas Johnston and Clutha Layton Harvey. She attended Mesa schools and was May Queen of Irving School in the eighth grade. She attended high school in Farmington, New Mexico and graduated from Durango High School in Colorado. She was popular and well-liked by her peers.
Janice was married to Stan Austin and together they had five children. As a stay at home mom she immersed herself in her children’s activities and she epitomized her role as “super-mom.”

Anyone who knew Janice soon found out that her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Webb; siblings Carroll (Kelda) Johnston of Las Vegas, NV; Betty J. Lamoreaux of Mesa, AZ, Glenn D. (Maxine) Johnston of Bayfield, CO.
