A Life Remembered

Obituary

Pamela Hall (Dayton) Woffinden died July 15, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. She was proceeded in her passing by her father John Blackford Dayton and her mother Valerie Agnes Scheeline and her brother John Blackford Dayton, Junior.

She was born in Giessen, Germany on December 5, 1947. Because her father served in the military, the family moved often. She referred to Reno, Nevada as her home because her parents grew up there and both set of grandparents lived there. She attended college at the University of Nevada at Reno and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She then received her physical therapy degree from Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. While she was in Los Angeles, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was actively involved in various church responsibilities throughout her life.

In 1970 she married Charles Brent Woffinden. Together they have eight children. Her life and joy revolved around her family. She rejoiced in her children’s accomplishments, consoled them in their trials, provided the best example she could for them to emulate. More than anything else, she loved being a mother of her 8, a grandma of her 37, and a great grandma of her 11.

She also derived great satisfaction from her professional career. As a physical therapist, she enjoyed serving and helping others to heal and recover. It just seemed to be in her nature to want to help other people and was able to focus on those who needed it the most.

She is an amazing person. One who tried, rather successfully, to emulate and serve her Heavenly Father, love and care for others, and bring joy, purpose and fulfillment to those who are blessed to be a part of her family. Messages of Love

From family and friends

Pam was loved by many and will be missed. She was so patient with me and Christie when we were kids and I felt her love throughout my childhood and beyond. She was the primary president when I was moving from Primary to Young Women’s and she came to meet with me. I still remember feeling her love for me as we talked about my favorite things in Primary. She wrote me while I was on my mission encouraging me and offering to help those in need that I met. She was always so generous. I could feel her love for me and her happiness for me when I got married. She not only had a big impact on her own children but also on the many friends her kids brought home through out the years. I always felt welcome, loved and encouraged while in the Woffinden home and Pam was the heart of that home. I send my love and prayers to the Woffinden family. 💕

We did not know Pam and Brent very long, however what we know is their genuine love 💕 to serve the one and minister in the way Jesus Christ gave to those He came in contact with everyone and everyday. We have been praying 🙏 for the both of You that there are Angels around You and there in each time You need it. Pam, You persevered, endured in Faith in Jesus Christ and are a rare gem 💎 We have been so blessed to know You the short amount of time we did. You made a difference in our lives and an impact that left an impression on our hearts 💞 forever. Thank You so very much for sharing Your Love 💗 with us. May Your dear and devoted husband be given what he stands in need during this difficult time of separation. We know God will be with Your Husband and Family not only during this time, but in every moment and always. We know life is definitely different without You, Pam. We will miss You.🥰 Love, Val and Cristina

Even though Brent and Pam were my age, I always looked up to her. She was wise and loving, and so uplifting to be around. I love the way she taught her family, her warm bread, and her love of serving others and I’m grateful I can call her my friend.

Just months after Pam and Brent were married, I sat in their kitchen as a young teen. She’d make several perfect loaves of bread at a time. We would sit and talk for hours eating hot bread, butter, and jam. She was always so soft spoken and kind. Those warm memories are etched in my heart forever. Thank you sweet Pam. ‘Til we meeting again. XO

Pam was always sympthetic and supportive to all her loved ones. We visited together only a few times since she lived in Los Angeles. My siser, Diana was so impressed by her that she followed her advice lovingly. I always heard nice stories about her from my mother (Marian) and Aunt Ruth. She will be missed. She was a positive person and affected so many.
