Bonnie Jeanne Taylor
05/10/1937 - 06/01/2021

Bonnie Jeanne Reaves Taylor, 84, passed away on June 1, 2021, in Mesa, Arizona.  She was born May 10, 1937 to Bernard Jackson Reaves and Margaret Jane Cardon in Tucson, Arizona.  She grew up in El Paso, Texas where she attended Austin High School.  She went on from there to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from BYU and taught second grade for several years.  On September 11, 1957, Bonnie married her childhood friend, Robert Lloyd Taylor, in the Mesa Arizona Temple, and they were fortunate to have celebrated over 63 years together.  After moving around to a few different places while Robert worked his way through dental school and military service, they settled in Tempe to raise their four children, Kathleen Jeannette Taylor Banister (Christian), David Alan Taylor, Michelle Taylor Bailey (Curt) and Michael Lloyd Taylor (Michelle).  After the kids were raised, they retired to Gilbert, Arizona.

Bonnie led an active life filled with family and friends and didn’t mind the occasional spotlight.  She was the lead majorette at her high school.  At BYU, she was a Cougarette and sang in the BYU Opera Workshop Chorus.  Later, she performed with the Sweet Adelines singing group.  She was a good cook and never shied away from a “useful gadget” on QVC.  She loved making enchiladas and Texas sheet cake and passed this love on to her kids and grandkids.  She faithfully served in many church callings including a fulltime mission in Palmyra, New York with her eternal companion.

Bonnie loved traveling all over the world.  She visited Germany, England, Hawaii, and eventually took her dream trip to Israel.  She also loved their family trips to Lake Powell and the beaches of California.  Robert and Bonnie loved cruising and taking trips to New England.

Bonnie especially loved spending time with her nine grandchildren, Max Banister and Anika Banister (Kathleen); Amanda Taylor (David); Kayla MacNeille, Taylor Bailey, and Tori Clouse (Michelle); Emily Udall, Macy Taylor, and Avery Taylor (Michael); and her two great-grandchildren, Cannon and Bailee MacNeille.  Without question, her favorite thing to do with this cast of characters was to watch them perform Must Be Santa each year at the family Christmas party.  The kids always complained but she knew they loved it!

We love her, and she will be sorely missed, but we are happy for her reunion with her parents and those others who preceded her.

There will be a viewing held on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building at 3572 E Guadalupe Road, Gilbert, Arizona 85234.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 12, at the same church building, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at 9:00am.  Interment will be at the Mesa Cemetery.  The family is grateful for the reverence and respect that Bunker Family Funerals has had for Bonnie in their care.  Flowers are welcome and may be sent to their Garden Chapel, 33 N Centennial Way, Mesa, Arizona 85201.  If you would rather make a donation, please do so to a charity or organization of your choosing in her behalf.

Subodh was born in Baroda, India on December 7, 1949 to parents Pramila and Sumanlal, and was a beloved brother to his siblings, Parimal, Sadhana, Avani, and Snehal. Coming from humble beginnings, he studied tirelessly to become a physician and improve his station in life. After earning his MD at MS University in Baroda, he immigrated to the United States in 1975 for his Internal Medicine residency in Chicago. Dr. Shroff then opened a private practice in River Forest, Illinois where he specialized in primary care and geriatrics for many years. Well loved by his patients, he was always receiving gifts from them and was often invited to their family events. Dr. Shroff moved to Gilbert, Arizona in 2008, where he continued his medical career and later retired.

Nothing was more important to Subodh than his role as a family man. He was a very proud father to his three daughters, Jennifer, Monica, and Erica.  Despite his rigorous work schedule, he always made time to attend their field trips, help with their homework, read them fairy tales, and take them on family vacations.  He was very affectionate and did not miss an opportunity to tell them how much he loved and was proud of them. Seeing the impact their father had on his patients throughout their childhood, his daughters were all moved to seek careers in healthcare. In recent years, Subodh became a loving grandfather to his three grandsons, Liam, Aiden, and Colin. He will forever be their role model for hard work, a positive attitude, and the importance of family.

Subodh was a devoted husband to his wife, Vibhuti.  He showered her with love, writing her songs and bringing her chocolates and stargazer lilies (his favorite flower) on every occasion. They enjoyed traveling, socializing with friends, singing karaoke, and attending concerts and comedy shows. He loved eating her delicious food and helping clean up the kitchen after meals. After his retirement, they spent many happy hours together, playing cards and Rummikub, going for walks, and exploring Arizona with daytrips to scenic mountain towns.

Everyone Subodh met instantly became family to him. Adored by friends in India, Chicago, Phoenix, and beyond, he will always be remembered for his magnetic smile, his lyrical talents, and his desire to help others. Throughout his career and even after retirement, he always went out of his way to help others with medical advice and care. He had a true passion for poetry and music, especially Indian classical music. He was well known for the thoughtful poems he wrote and sang to family and friends on all of life’s occasions.

09/22/1924 - 05/21/2021

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Myrtle Elizabeth Petersen Parker returned to her Heavenly home on Friday, May 21, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Myrtle was the seventh child of Andrew and Susie Brewer Petersen born September 22, 1924 in Pinedale, Arizona.  She attended grade school in Pinedale’s two room school house.  After graduating from Snowflake Union High School in 1942 she moved to California to attend secretarial school.  She returned home after learning of her father’s death.  Soon after she met and married her eternal companion Clyde Parker in 1944.  Together they had four boys and two girls.  They lived for a time in Minnesota and Nevada but always returned home to Arizona.  Clyde passed away in 1984 and Myrtle remained a widow for 23 years.  But as love would have it, in 2007 she married her good friend France Willis.  Together they enjoyed five wonderful years.  France passed away in 2012.  After spending five years in Snowflake Mom chose to return again to Mesa.  She spent her last years making friends, crafting and bringing joy to all who came across her path.

Myrtle was a devout lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.  She served the Lord diligently in many callings.  Some of her favorite callings were Relief Society President, working with the youth in MIA, Chorister and later in life, as the Adult Singles Family Home Evening Coordinator.  She served selflessly wherever she was needed.  She went out of her way to make sure everyone around her knew they were loved.  She was a friend to all and often said “I’ve never met a stranger”.  She befriended everyone.  In this respect she was a true disciple of Jesus Christ.  Her life was a reflection of Him and what He taught.

Mom was a creative person.  She loved baking and she made delicious pies and decorated cookies.  She will always be remembered for the beautiful birthday and wedding cakes that she made for her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.  She even won grand prize ribbons at the Arizona State Fair for a wedding cake and an ornate gingerbread house.

Myrtle worked many years as a secretary, bookkeeper, dispatcher and office manager.  She then joined her husband, Clyde, driving cross country as a long-haul truck driver.  Mom and dad always got a kick out of being called ‘Bonnie and Clyde’, their CB radio handle .  She proudly proclaimed she had been in every state in the continental United States.

But most of all mom’s the greatest joy was her family.  She loved being a mother, grandmother and aunt.  She was passionate about genealogy and family reunions.  Myrtle’s legacy will continue through her children, James (Sally) Parker, Curtis (Marcia) Parker, Raymond Parker, Andrea (Gregory) Willis, Lauri (Brian) Astel, 23 grandchildren and 43 greatgrandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Velma Jarman and daughter-in-law Kerry Parker.  Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Parker, her son Craig Parker and daughters-in-law Lisa Parker and Bettye Parker.

A visitation will be held Thursday May 27th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. Eugene Dewey Sabin was born September 3, 1947, in Logan Utah.

Eugene (know as just Gene by everyone), grew up in Mesa, AZ. While a young adult, Gene learned to Square Dance. After his mission, he moved in with his younger brother Edwin in Santa Clara, CA to find job. He did that but also found a wife, Dina Sandoval Carson. Dina had learned to Square Dance and the two attended the Special Interest Single Adult dances which were often Square Dances.

Dina and Gene were married on December 8, 1980. While they lived in Santa Clara their son John Victorino Sabin was born. Dina already had daughter, Lilly, from a previous marriage.

Eventually, they moved back to Mesa, AZ. But, sadly, shortly after returning, Dina passed away in May 2001.

Gene’s passion became Family History and Genealogy upon which he worked tirelessly.

Gene contracted prostate cancer in 2019 and passed away May 10, 2021.

Preceding Gene in death are his Father, Wallace Dewey Sabin, his Mother, Ora Amanda Tietjen Sabin, his brothers Rex Dean Sabin and Edwin Wallace Sabin and his Wife, Dina Sandoval Carson Sabin.

Surviving Gene are his son, John Victorino Sabin, Stepdaughter, Lillian Carson Stone and Step-Granddaughter, Dreamer Stone. He is also survived by one brother, Roger Allen Sabin, and two sisters, Donna Stauffer and Julie Jarvis.
