Cindy Lee Ginos passed away peacefully at her home in Mesa, Az on July 12, 2021.  Cindy was born June 28, l957 in Phoenix, Az to Greg and Faye Doyle, the youngest of six children.  She grew up in Phoenix….part of a big, happy family filled with wonderful memories.

Cindy and her beloved husband, Robert (Bobby) Ginos were married December 8, 1984 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.  They shared 36 years together….full of adventure, ups and downs, lots of laughter and an abundance of love.

Cindy loved her family.  She and Bobby were blessed with two daughters and a bonus son and her world revolved around them.  There were family parties, hunting trips and time spent with dear friends.  Cindy’s talents blessed everyone and her creativity seemed endless….the gifts she gave were always unique and thoughtful.

Cindy’s health challenges made her who she was.  She was courageous, full of faith and lived life to the fullest.  Her happy nature lifted everyone she met and her life was full of service toward her family, her church and her friends.  We will miss her dearly.

Cindy is survived by her husband Bobby, daughters: Allison (Logan) Crouse, Cate (Brooks) Woodbury, son Pete (Stephanie) Phend, grandchildren: Parker, Porter, Emma, Leah, Mason, Max, Addison, Ivy, Henry and Sage, sisters: Kerry (Ken) Driggs, Vicki (Del) Mecham and Debbie (Bill) Ginos, sister-in-law Sharon (Larry) Nicholl and countless nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Cindy.  Cindy is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Greg and sister Janet.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 19,2021, at 11:00 am at the LDS church building located at 10036 East Brown Road, Mesa, AZ.   A visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the service.  The link to watch the funeral is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/72843785766. Virginia Mae Hanna 91, passed peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Chandler, AZ. She was born on October 21, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the oldest of 6 siblings. Phyliss, Lois, Karen, Linda, and Larry. She was raised in Thornton, Iowa. She married Richard Hanna on June 29, 1948 in Clear Lake, Iowa. They had 5 children, Barbara Elting, Diane Blumer, Teresa Meierotto, and Steve (Larane) Hanna.

1982 she reluctantly moved to Mesa, Arizona when Richard retired. They resided at Good Life Trailer Park within 6 months ended up falling in love with Arizona. Having many friends, cocktail hours, playing cards and going to the pool. Absolutely loved being a homemaker and taking care of others.

After her husband died in 1993, she continued going to dances and met her significant other Jim Woods. They continued dancing well into their 80’s. They were together for over 20 years.

Preceded in death by her husband Richard Hanna, sisters Lois Watton and Karen Strabley, brother Larry Jensen. Daughters Barbara Elting and Diane Blumer and her significant other Jim Woods.

She was survived by her daughter Teresa Meierotto and son, Steve (Larane) Hanna. 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Robbie Abaroa passed away peacefully in Gilbert AZ on July 11, 2021 just a few days after her 94th birthday on July 7. She was born Mildred Roberta Rowley to Clarence and Genevieve Rowley in 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas. Robbie led a very happy, active life painting Christmas ornaments, working in a tuna factory, performing as a sharpshooter for the San Diego Homeland Defense during WWII, laboring as a budget analyst for the Navy and the Marines, toiling as a small business owner, operating as a real estate agent and broker, and traveling the world. While at the same time, Robbie mothered seven children, 37 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren (3 more coming soon), and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Robbie grew up in Kansas with her two brothers, Jimmy and George. She was the only girl in her neighborhood teaching her to be a rough and tough companion. In 1944, Robbie moved with her family to San Diego CA where she met her best friend, Vickie Abaroa Brionez. At the end of WWII, Vickie introduced Robbie to her brother, Ramon, who had been serving in the United States Army. They fell in love and married on July 31, 1946. After getting a business degree, Robbie began working for the US Government as a budget analyst for the Department of the Navy. At the same time, Ramon worked as a Naval Air Force mechanic. Robbie and Ramon chose to live in Lemon Grove CA where over the years they became parents of seven children: Eva Peterson (Richard); Susan Robinson (Greg); Steven Abaroa (DeeAnn); Karyn Bolton (Jim); Fred Abaroa (Polly); Michele Siufanua (Sam); Josie Paredes (Andrew). She also fostered five children from Costa Rica. 

While in Lemon Grove, still working for the Navy, she and Ramon became owners/managers of the Abaroa Egg Ranch. Many mornings she could be found delivering eggs to the elementary schools and restaurants in Lemon Grove. A few years before retiring from government work, she was transferred to the Marine Corp Recruiting Depot as the head budget analyst. She also attended real estate school so that upon her retirement and the selling of their egg ranch, she started Abaroa Realty which she did for many years thereafter. She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, fulfilling many, many callings and assignments in all organizations, as the wife of the presiding leader of the San Diego Spanish Branch and served in the San Diego Temple. Her testimony was always strong and steadfast.In 1999, her beloved “Babe” (Ramon) passed away after years of health challenges. She lovingly and selflessly cared for him along with his brother, Fred, who also suffered similar health challenges. She loved to travel, especially cruising, and visited many many states and countries. She and her dear friend, Donna Nance, could sport purple hats like no other while on their journeys. Even with her own health challenges, she smiled, served and shared her heart with others.

 She is survived by her children and her brother, George Rowley of San Diego CA.A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 14439 E. Carol Beckstrand Allen passed away peacefully at her home in Gilbert on July 10, 2021, just four days beyond her 88th birthday. Carol was born July 6, 1933 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Melvin H. and Virginia Hinckley Beckstrand. She spent her growing up years in Meadow, Provo and American Fork, Utah. She grew up with younger siblings: Helen, Harlo, Paul and Judy and a large extended family.

She met Merle M. Allen, Jr. at BYU and they were married August 16, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. Merle and Carol raised their 6 children in Scottsdale and Mesa, Arizona. Family life included: boating trips to Lake Powell, Lake Havasu, the lakes along the Salt River, also many annual beach trips to San Diego, CA and San Carlos, Mexico. Throughout her life she enjoyed serving in ward and stake callings and fully enjoyed living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Her life was filled with service toward her family, her church and community. Carol was an exceptional quilter. She made over 100 quilts including one for each of her grandchildren at their high school graduation. Carol and Merle served 4 missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at BYU Hawaii, Provo Utah MTC, Hong Kong as the Asia Area-Humanitarian Leaders and Cove Fort Historical Site. They also represented BYU-Hawaii in Wuhan, China where they taught as exchange professors. Carol was a lifelong teacher. She was a volunteer tutor, taught English as a second language, and recently stated that no teaching opportunity gave her greater joy than her 7-year-old-primary class and helping the children prepare for baptism. She recently concluded her service as a primary teacher after five years.

Merle and Carol celebrated 67 years together. She was the love of his life. She will be greatly missed by her husband and six children: Leslie (Don) Patterson, Shauna (Fred) Mortensen, Denise (Curtis) Clifford, Colette (Kent) Hatfield, Mark (Audralyn) Allen and Brian (Jeannine) Allen, her 32 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 10:00 am at the Gilbert Val Vista Stake Center, 1005 N. Voyager Dr., Gilbert, AZ. A visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2021, 6-8 pm at Bunker’s Funeral Home, 3529 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ and Saturday, July 17, 2021, 9-10 am at the Gilbert Val Vista Stake Center prior to the service. If remembrances other than flowers are desired, a donation to the Church Humanitarian Fund is suggested.

Connie Mae Huenergardt, went Home to be with Her Lord on July 3rd, 2021 (Age 74) after a battle with cancer. She was the first of seven children born from the marriage of George C. (Sr) and Caroline Perkins in Miami Arizona. She was the beloved Wife of the late William Huenergardt Jr. Connie is survived by her Mother, Caroline “Mama” and Sisters, Georgina Robinson (Manuel) and Mae Calamos (John). Connie was preceded in death by her Brother – Gary Perkins, Father- George Perkins Sr., Brother – George Perkins Jr., Sister – Carol Ann Perkins, Sister – Katherine Maldonado (Frank). Known as “Aunt Connie” by many, she loved and mentored numerous Nieces and Nephews (including Greats & Great-Greats) as well as many colleagues and friends.

In life Connie served as a project manager for numerous engineering firms, and more importantly as the Director of Property and Supply (Purchasing/Procurement) for the Gila River Indian Community. Connie was an enrolled Member of the Tribal Community. In retirement Connie assumed the most important roll of her life, that as the caregiver to her Mother. Connie bravely continued with her mission, even as She battled the cancer that ultimately claimed her life. Connie was a devout Christian who shared her Faith with everyone She met through her testimony, actions, and love. Aside from her immediate Family, she also leaves behind her Church Family at the First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes. All are invited to celebrate Connie’s life through the services listed above. Karen Christensen passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the age of 73, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born November 9, 1947, to Grant and Aenone (Woolf) Christensen in Provo, Utah. Without the conveniences of modern  day technology, her birth took everyone by surprise because she was the second of unexpected twins. She was born 14 minutes after her older sister Kathryn (Kathy). Kathy would become her closest friend, and they were devoted sisters to one another her entire life. Soon after her birth, Karen, her two sisters, and mother moved to San Francisco, CA, to join her father who was beginning Dental School. After her father completed dental school, the family spent one snowy year back in Provo, UT, before she would arrive with her family on January 1, 1953, to the city she’d call home the remainder of her life – Mesa, AZ.

In Mesa, she graduated with Westwood High School’s inaugural class of 1965. Shortly thereafter, she left home to attend Brigham Young University where she graduated in May of 1969, with her degree in Elementary Education. Education was a guiding value within the Christensen home, and she would continue on to receive a Masters Degree in Education from Arizona State University and another in Library Science from Brigham Young University. Karen loved to learn and help others learn. She was a devoted educator spending more than 3 decades in the classroom or as a librarian.  Her career began at Hawthorne Elementary, however, most of her years were spent at Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary in Mesa, AZ, teaching many of the same children that lived in her neighborhood. Education also served as a blessing in Karen’s life because of the many friendships that were forged with teachers and parents.

Karen was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Karen was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ who believed that serving others was to serve the Lord. She lived to serve those around her. She would take one of her nephews to and from work during his high school years. She took her nieces and nephews to dinner, ice cream, and often bought or sent them gifts. She provided rides to neighbors without transportation to doctor appointments. She loved to laugh with her friends and attend cultural events with them such as concerts and plays. Her most notable service in life, however, was to her beloved parents. After her mother broke her hip in May 2003, she would retire and almost never leave their side unless it was to sleep or run an errand – usually for them. She lived to take her mother wherever she wanted or needed to go such as countless hair appointments, mani-pedis, to get frozen custard, or go see their dear husband/father. Often while her parents were in assisted living, she would drop off treats for the entire assisted living home. At her mother’s assisted living home, she would deliver dinner for the entire home every Thursday to help the caretakers. After her mother passed away, she and her twin Kathy turned their attention to taking care of each other, and together they have served the people of their neighborhood and LDS ward.

Karen is survived by her sisters Kathy Christensen, Janice (Larry) Metcalf, Marilyn (Dennis) Ellsworth, 13 nieces and nephews, and 52 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Berit (Frank) Purcell. There will be a viewing Monday evening, July 12th from 5-7 at Bunker Family Funerals, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa. Services will be Tuesday, July 13th at the Mesa 25th Ward, 848 N. Westwood, 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45. Bunker Family Funerals is handling arrangements.

Linda Wilma Macrae Moss (78) passed away peacefully on June 25, 2021 in Mesa, AZ surrounded by family and friends.
She was born to Edna and Albert Macrae on July 12, 1942 in Batavia, NY.

Linda was an accomplished musician who studied music most of her life. She received her BS from Fredonia State University and then went on to study at the Academy of Fine Arts and Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, Belgium. Linda received her Masters at the Manhattan School of Music followed by postgraduate work at Julliard School, Columbia University and later received her Doctorate from the University of Phoenix.

Linda performed on the solo and chamber music circuit along the East Coast and in Europe. She taught music in the private setting as well as in the urban school setting for many years.

Linda was passionate about music, her family and her faith. She loved to learn about people and tried to connect in some way with everyone with whom she came into contact. She was fascinated by Genealogy and devoted much time to this.  She also loved to go out for meals with her husband, adored sweets, music, literature and travel.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Moss, her children: Brian Davis and his wife, Chris Loebsack, Diana Davis, Colin Davis and his wife, Randi Davis, Amanda Davis, Anne Lake and her husband, Adlai Lake, Linda’s sister, Edith Forbes and husband Ed of Batavia, NY as well as their children Scott, Kelly and Chris. Linda’s step-Daughters include Michelle Moss Nani, and husband Robert Abramson, Nannette Moss Heise and husband Garnet Heise and Nicole Moss Underwood.

Linda is also survived by her 17 grandchildren whom she adored: Kevin Davis (17), Jenna Davis (16), Jared Davis (14), Alyssa Davis (9), Tanner Breen, (12), Hadley “Cricket” Breen (9), Cillian Lake (9), Charlie Lake (6), Everly Lake (4), AnaBelle Davis (11), Dominik Davis (9), Bentley Davis (7) Samantha Nani (24), Zyre Moss-Hoskins (25) , Khide Moss-Hoskins (22), Willow Heise-Thompson (7) and Kingston Underwood (12). Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edna Macrae as well as her beloved son Derek Davis.

Our son, brother, dad, and friend Mark E Glover Jr. Passed away July 3, 2021, at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. Mark was only 44 and leaves behind his four children, Garrett, Dylan (Jordyn), Brooklyn and Emalee. Mark Joins his youngest daughter, Kara, who passed in 2017. A lifelong mechanic, Mark could fix anything. He was a hard worker who sacrificed everything he had for his family and loved ones. Mark was born in Mesa, on November 6, 1976, to Mark and Ann glover. Mark is survived by siblings Eleanor Bachrach (David), Scott (Stacy) David (Kylie), Alicia Jackson (Adrian), Holly Terrell (Ray), Chris (Trista), and Ryan. Twenty nieces and nephews. We all loved Mark deeply and will miss him, until we meet again.

Richard G. Serrano, 77

Passed away July 1, 2021.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 53 years.

Richard worked 36 years for the City of Tempe and was also a member of a Mariachi band.

He is survived by his wife, Rachael, sister, Aurora Serrano and brother, Joe Serrano Jr. (Betty) and many nieces and nephews.

Lucy Ellen Burris of Gilbert, Arizona, formerly of Naperville, Illinois and Mendota, Minnesota died July 06, 2021. Lucy was the eldest of eight children of Jesse V. Blake and Lucy Anne Robinette. Lucy Anne had contracted polio in 1944 and was partially paralyzed afterward. Lucy Ellen then became a replacement for her mother in caring for her seven siblings. From the time Lucy Ellen graduated from high school at the age of 16 until her marriage. She became the main financial support of  the entire family. On April 7th, 1966 in a blizzard, Lucy Ellen and Jack Arthur Burris were married by a Justice of the Peace in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Lucy is survived by her husband of 55 years, her daughter Heather Aileen Burris and son Jerome Andrew Burris. She also is survived by her three sisters, Mary Rita van Valkenburg, Dorothy Jane Ripley ( Doug) and Caroline Marie Germschied, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, David George Blake, Michael Jerome Blake, Joseph Charles Blake and Gerald Lee Blake. Interment will be in the Burris family plot in Iowa.

Larissa “Chic” Kathryn O’Toole, 23, left this earth on July 3^rd, 2021 in Gilbert, Arizona.  Larissa was born to the late Scott Clouse and Mary Angela Clouse on October 3^rd, 1997 in Mesa, Arizona; the youngest of five children.  She was the beloved wife of Brian Patrick O’Toole of Gilbert, Arizona.

Larissa grew up in the home her father furnished when she was only 10 weeks old and was known by “Chic” to all her family and friends.  She attended Greenfield and Sonoma Ranch Elementary schools, Greenfield Junior High, and graduated from Gilbert High School in 2016 where she played badminton and violin in the Orchestra.  It was during high school that she met her husband, Brian.  They dated for over three years before getting engaged in November of 2017.  Chic and Brian were married in Gilbert, Arizona on February 17^th, 2018.  She went on to attend Chandler-Gilbert Community College where she received her associates degree in biology.

Those who knew Chic, knew how generous she was with her time for all her friends, family, and those in need.  She was a true animal lover with a special fondness for her two dogs Pippin and Moose who went on many adventures with her and Brian hiking and camping across Arizona.  Chic’s passion for animals extended to helping her father with the farm animals that included the care of chickens, goats, pigeons, quail, peacocks, and tortoises.  She followed her love in her occupation where she was employed at Puppies N’ Love at San Tan Mall caring for and training dogs.

Larissa especially enjoyed being outdoors and hunting with her dad and experienced many camping trips with her family in the White Mountains.  One of her favorite vacation spots was traveling to Rocky Point in Mexico enjoying time on the beach, eating fresh Mexican food, and playing games with family and friends.  She possessed a talent for art and loved to paint in her free time, complete 1000-piece puzzles, bake, and cultivate her plants.  The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Larissa and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Larissa is survived by her husband Brian, her mother Mary Angela Clouse, brothers: Dustin (Heather) Clouse, Weston (Darian) Clouse, sisters: Alicia (Brian) Durette, and Savanna Clouse, nieces: Kayla, Indy, Briar, Kenzie, Kara, Holly, Beck, nephew, Cooper, grandfather, Larry Clouse (Revis), grandmother, Mary Ann Wilkins, In-laws, David and Michelle O’Toole, sisters-in-law Xae and Mackenzie O’Toole, and many family members who loved her very much.  Larissa is preceded in death by her beloved father Scott Edward Clouse.

Larissa will be honored in a service held on Monday, July 12^th at 10:00 am at the Gilbert Arizona Stake Center, 777 East Elliot Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234.  Interment will immediately follow at Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Billie Carl Lemings went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2021 in Mesa, AZ.  He was born to Carl and Edith Lemings in Monett, MO in 1933.  Billie led a fulfilled life that included service in the United States Air Force which he retired with honors.  Billie also had an outstanding career with the Mesa Unified School District where he was well known for his kind heart and willingness to serve.  He is survived by his wife Norma Lemings, his two sons Rick and John Lemings, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers donations to Sunshine Acres are suggested.

Darla Ann Snyder, 81, was called to sing with the angels on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in her home in Mesa, Arizona. She led a very happy life, in her younger years she loved to travel, she loved singing, and spending time with her family telling stories of the past. She spent many years as a Title Officer.

Darla is survived by her sisters;  Dorothy Towhey, Lois Schneider (Lee), Brother; Herb Snyder (Leslie), Nieces; Leigh Ann Schneider, Lindsey Bannister (Jesse), Logan Smith (Parry), Kirsten Kelly (Martin), Tami Yip (Peter), Laurie Valvardy (Pat), Nephews; Steve Snyder (Kirsten), Michael Snyder, Bill Towhey (Patsie) and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Genevive Snyder and sister Chloe Snyder.

No public services will be held. The family will be holding a small celebration of life at a later date.

Mary Faith Enloe, 83, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021 in Mesa, Arizona.  She was born to David and Alice Vinzant in El Centro, California on June 21, 1938.

Mary is survived by Howard Enloe, her husband of 65 years, and their three daughters; Joyce Van Houten, Elizabeth Grant, and Becky Harper.

Mary was blessed with 8 grandchildren; Rachele Grant Crane, Lyndall Van Houten, Damon Grant, Matthew Van Houten, Samantha Harper, Andrea Harper, Heidi Harper and Lance Harper. Mary is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and a host of faithful friends.

All who knew Mary are aware that she valued her relationship with her Heavenly Father and that she loved the Kingdom of God.

Ren Waters, 64 passed away on July 2, 2021 after a long battle from cancer.  He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho but grew up in Helena Montana and enjoyed a wonderful childhood there.  After graduating from University of Texas at Dallas he enjoyed a successful business career focusing in the franchise industry.  He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a devoted husband to Michelle and father to 4 wonderful children, Chase (Bethany), Hunter, Lauren, and Dylan and Grandfather to Oakely, Beckett, Nixon and Scottie.  Ren is known for his love of motorcycles and spent over 20 years taking an annual ride with his sons and friends.  He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose life he touched.  Funeral services are Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 12 PM at the LDS Chapel 3920 E Brown Road, Mesa AZ 85205. Frederick R. Henderson, 81, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 in Gilbert, Arizona.

He was born in Buffalo, New York on May 8, 1940 to Fredrick W. and Lillian A. Henderson.

He graduated from Hamburg High School and Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse New York. He served his apprenticeship at Amigone Funeral Homes in Buffalo.

After fulfilling his military obligation to the United States Army, he returned to Amigone and was employed there for ten years.

During that time, he married his high school sweetheart, Judith Koch. They had 2 sons and 1 daughter.

In 1969 the family moved to California where Fred was employed by Riker Labs, a division of 3M. Co. as a pharmaceutical salesman.

In 1971 he returned to funeral service at Melcher’s Mortuary in Mesa, Arizona. He eventually built his own funeral home, Henderson’s Colonial Chapel, now Bunker’s University Chapel.

Fred was employed at various funeral homes during his long career. Including Bunker’s, Mountain View Memorial Gardens, and Queen of Heaven. He retired at age 73.

He was active in the community. He was Past President and Kiwanian of the year of Mesa Kiwanis. In 1982, then Gov. Bruce Babbit appointed Fred to The Board of Funeral Directors for two terms.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; 2 sons, Tim and his wife Liz; Jeff and his wife Marybeth and 1 daughter Amy Henderson; granddaughter, Breanna Voss and her husband, Billy. Grandson, Jackson Dotson Henderson. 3 nephews, Scott (Kim), Christian, Todd (Wende) Henderson. 1 niece, Melinda Barone Weisloe; 3 honorary nieces, Theresa Matubleski, Jennifer Russell and Heather Lauria. Also 2 cousins, Sheri Jo Rogers and her husband Leonard; Marykaye McCann and her husband Mike.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. in Bunker’s University Chapel 3529 E. University Dr., Mesa, Arizona.
