Margie Luneil Johnson
March 22, 1934 - October 13, 2014

Margie Luneil Johnson passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 after a long illness. Luneil celebrated her 80th birthday this year on March 22. She was born in Moncks Corner, South Carolina in 1934 to McNeil and Marie Morris and was the fifth of thirteen children.

She is preceded in death by her parents McNeil and Marie Morris, brothers Robert, Wilson, Olin and James Morris, a sister, Emogene Peterson and Sisters-in-Law Joanne Morris and Renae Morris. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Vernon Johnson, daughter Aletha Jolley (Jeff), and sons Jeffery (Rhonda) and Markley (Shellee) Johnson, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Ozborne, John and Wendell Morris and sisters Elnora Wimmer, Daisy Orr, Sandra Carter and Linda Larson.

Luneil was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she happily and energetically served in the Young Women’s organization, as a young women’s president and Girls Camp Cook and as ward activities chairman. She also served in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. Luneil had an infectious, fun-loving nature and was always the life of the party. She would light up the room whenever she entered and was adored by all who knew her. Luneil loved singing, camping, fishing (as long as she didn’t have to touch the fish or the worm:) and shopping.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 16th from 6 to 8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, Arizona 85213. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10 AM, preceded by visitation at 9 AM, at the LDS Park Center Ward Chapel, 422 East University Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85203.

Martha Chipp Morrow, 94, of Mesa, Arizona; passed away on October 13, 2014 in Mesa.  She was born August 29, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frederich Arthur Chipp and Nellie Baker.  She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Woodrow T. Morrow and is survived by her sister: June Swift of Salt Lake City; Cousin: Mary Jones of Mesa, AZ; her beloved nieces and nephews and other loving extended family.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18th with a visitation 1 hour prior at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Century Gardens Ward, 633 S. Higley Rd. in Mesa.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.  Bunker’s University Chapel handled the arrangements.

Gary D. Moreno
August 20, 1950 - October 11, 2014

Gary D. Moreno, 64, of Salt River, AZ, born August 20, 1950 in Sacaton, AZ was called home on October 11, 2014. There to meet him were his mother Katherine Stewart Moreno and his stepmother Dolores Moreno, and brother Calvin Smith. He is survived by his father Jess D. Moreno along with his two brothers and one sister. Left to carry on his traditions, are his children Martin L. Moreno, Caesar O. Manuel, Roxanne S.S. Moreno, Racquel W. Moreno, Jess E. Moreno. His legacy will be continued through his 15 grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Francis, Cassandra, Martin, Hannah, Anjel, Dwyane, Savannah, Oliver, Misiah, Ci-Ani, Trinity, Pryia, and Isabel. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance. OORAH! He loved being behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler hauling hay for Moreno’s Trucking, the family business in Tucson, AZ. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at 6 PM, Salt River Memorial Hall. Funeral procession Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at 6 AM, Salt River Memorial Hall to Salt River Cemetery. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.

She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jensen Stephens. June was a loving and caring wife, mother, and friend who impacted the lives of all those she came in contact with.

Dalleta Jane Bell
June 9, 1951 - October 10, 2014

Dalleta Jane Bell passed away after a brief illness on October 10, 2014 in Gilbert, AZ at the young age of 63. Dalleta is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Preston Bell, three children and three (children in-law) Michael (Crystal), Kenneth (Andrea), and Rebecca (Ken), as well as eight grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ellen Burrow, and a younger brother Wally.

Dalleta was born on June 9th, 1951 in Andrews, TX.  She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1969.  She then married the love of her life, Preston in 1971, and became a proud “Army Wife.”  After traveling around the United States and Europe, Dalleta and her family settled in Fort Irwin/Barstow, CA where she began her career as a DOD civilian for the U.S. Army. She retired in 2005 after 20 years of service.  After retirement, Dalleta enjoyed traveling and visiting family throughout the states.

Dalleta was accomplished at crocheting and often made works of art with her “needles and yarn.”  She was a generous individual who loved her family above all else, and who was passionate about her role as Grandma.  Her life was based on her family and she loved every second of that role.

Funeral services will be held on October 15, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa AZ. Reverend John Cunningham will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dalleta’s life.  Condolences can be sent to Preston at montanadriver@yahoo.com.  The family would like to thank the exemplary hospital staff at Banner Gateway Hospital for their dedication and care.

William S. Wright (Billy), 45, passed away October 5, 2014 in Anthem, AZ. William was born October 5, 1969 in Mesa AZ, to father William L. Wright and mother Charlotte Chuchman. William was devoted to his family. He loved them with every fiber of his being. He loved to work hard as a grocery store director. He achieved so many accomplishments in this position. His hobbies were to play, joke around with others by being ornery, and spend time with his many animals; specifically his horses. He died young but will be forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 10 AM, preceded by a visitation at 9 AM, at the LDS Chapel, 7145 E. Monterey (Power and Baseline) in Mesa. Mark Allen Brown

Mark Allen Brown

Mark was born April 21, 1970 in Fresno California, and passed away October 4, 2014, in Mesa Arizona surrounded by his family.

Mark is survived by his parents, Fon and Joy Brown, wife Amy McCabe Brown, and children, Brennan – serving an LDS mission in Stockholm, Jessica and Mallory, siblings Troy, Jeff, Fon R, Marcy, Christiaan, and Matthew, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Mark was born in Fresno California and spent the first 10 years of his life there and in the Atascadero area. He and his brother Matthew later came to live with the Brown family in Cache Valley, Utah, where they found a stable and loving home. The family moved to Mesa in 1985, where Mark graduated from Mountain View High School.  He was called as an LDS missionary to the Austria Vienna mission, and during his time there was transferred to Germany after the Berlin Wall came down.

He worked throughout his life in accounting and finance in the Healthcare Industry, most recently with the Banner Corporation. He loved to sing with his family, and found great joy in supporting them in their musical endeavors.  He held many positions of leadership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but his most favorite calling was Primary pianist – spending time with the children and playing the piano.  He most recently served as a Gospel Doctrine teacher. Mark made sure that in every lesson he taught he invited the participants to consider how the doctrine might be applied in their own lives. Throughout his battle with cancer he continued to teach, often reflecting on the blessings that he received, despite the struggles.  He fought a courageous battle against Ewing’s Sarcoma for two and a half years, always believing in “Faith, Not Fear.”

Visitation is Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6 – 8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. Funeral services are Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10 AM, preceded by a visitation at 9 AM, at the LDS Taylor Park Ward, 825 S. 32nd Street, Mesa, AZ. Interment at City of Mesa Cemetery.
