About Kevin Palmer

Kevin Palmer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, after a six-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 69 years old.

Kevin was born on May 31, 1956, in Mesa, Arizona, to Melvin and Wanda Palmer. He was one of eight children in a lively and loving family, where he developed the warmth, humor, and strong sense of connection that would define his life. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1974.

As a young man, Kevin faithfully served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Concepcion and Osorno, Chile. His time there deepened his testimony and love for the gospel and for people from all walks of life—qualities that would remain central to who he was.

After returning home, Kevin met the love of his life, Vickie Porter. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple on December 14, 1979. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service. They were blessed with three daughters—Ashley, Lacey, and Brandee—who were the pride and joy of his life.

Kevin was a hardworking and dedicated man who built a successful business through determination and integrity. Yet, his greatest passions were found outside of work. He was a fun-loving and devoted dad who created lasting memories with his family. He served faithfully as a Scoutmaster, mentoring and guiding young men with patience, humor, and genuine love. He also found great joy in family history work, cherishing the opportunity to connect generations.

Kevin had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. He was a friend to everyone he met, always ready with a smile, a story, or a helping hand. His life was a reflection of his deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, and he served willingly and faithfully in every calling he received.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie; his daughters and their families: Ashley Palmer and her daughters, Finley, Navy, and Remi Palmer; Lacey Alicie and her husband, Daniel, and their sons, Jared and Jett Alicie; and Brandee Wellman and her husband, Brandon, and their children, Beckett, Blakeley, and Bentlee Wellman. He is also survived by six siblings, their spouses, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on April 11, 2026, at the Higley East Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 3580 E. Houston Avenue in Gilbert, Arizona. A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by services at 2:00 p.m.

All who knew and loved Kevin are warmly invited to attend and celebrate his life.

Anyone who knew Kevin would agree…what a nice guy! Harmony Park Ward misses the Palmer family. One of my favorite memories is the time we all had at Lake Powell. Everyone got along well and everyone had a fun time. Kevin was so laid back yet the first one to help out when there was a need. I am so sorry for your loss yet grateful for the Gospel and the revelation on Eternal families. Blessings to you and your family. Love, Steph and Bill PS : I didn’t know that Kevin and I were born 2 weeks apart!

I love you so much and appreciate our incredible friendship through the years. Kevin impacted myself and my children in the best way possible. Being seen, accepted and challenged. Kevin was my brother, friend and hero. He wrote a song that was part of a musical play called "My Hero Was A Common Man" That was Kevin! I loved spending time with him, growing up, being in young adults with him, traveling to family history sites and up to the very end. I will cherish my memories of and with him! He was one of the truest, kindest and most loving examples of a peacemaker and one who lifted others that I have ever known. I don't remember him ever saying an unkind word about anyone. He was always so happy and fun. He loved our Savior Jesus Christ and all who knew him felt that spirit! He encouraged me to learn why I had a testimony of Jesus Christ not just a thank-timony about what I was thankful for. I'm so grateful. I'm so glad you are no longer suffering sweet Kevin! I love you and will miss you so much!
