I sure am grateful for my time i had with Eddie not only as my Bishop but also my friend. I always felt a special connection to him because of our love for the cowboy ways. He allowed me to be a part of his big world by letting me break a few mules and horses for him and even work on the buggy wheel the summer before he sent me on a mission. One of The nicest horses I've ever owned, the best 2 horse trailer ive ever had and a few of the best memories i had in my youth came from Eddie. Thanks for all the great times. Lets gather a few on the other side one day! Love ya Pard!

I never met you, but have been blessed by the life of your son, Wes. Thank you for living a life that created such a wonderful, caring, gifted son. I'm sure the acorn didn't fall far from the tree.

He saw potential that others didn’t, he acquired skills beyond those he was given, he built businesses, built faith, and built a family that will carry his name with honor. Families are forever, and I’m grateful ours was led by you. Until we’re together again. Thank you for the foundation Dad. Love you, Ju

Big Ed was a major part of my adolescence and upbringing. Despite the many years of difference in age, I always felt like I had a friend in him. Many long talks over the phone while driving about life. He is missed greatly.

I am so sad to hear of his passing!!! He was my beloved Bishop during my formative teenage years and his powerful testimony helped shape mine. The young women sewed a bonnet for each Bishopric member as a joke, and Bishop Johnson perched his on top of his cowboy hat and wore it the whole pioneer trek! I’ll never forget the image of him on his gorgeous buckskin gelding, that cream colored bonnet tied onto his hat! He was so funny! I know he also really helped my brother who had recently been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Bishop became his diabetic buddy, and he always kept sugar-free candy in the Bishop’s office to give to my brother! It was such a simple act that meant so much! We love the whole Johnson family and we’re sorry you’re going through this, but knowing Bishop, that man is wasting no time getting to work teaching others on the other side!!!

I met Eddy just off of my mission, while he served as councilor to bishop. I was assistant secretary and we would tally tithings each week after church services. I enjoyed listening to his life’s stories, and he enjoyed listening to others. He often brought his elk jerky, that couldn’t be beat. He had a way of making others feel important, and their lives meaningful, a great quality in a man. May his family be comforted and blessed at this difficult time.

Fond memories of Eddie and his amazing little family in the early days when they lived in Carefree. He was always so kind, generous, and willing to do anything for anyone. He was the true cowboy, boss, and business man. He always wore a smile, and was so down to earth–fun to be around, and interested in your life. Missed this family so much when they moved to Lehi!! Love and hugs for all the family as you feel his loss. May he be at peace as he faced a lot of health issues. Prayers for healing and comfort for all of you.
