About David Frederick "Big Dave" Busch

David Frederick Busch, affectionately known to many as "Big Dave," passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on October 19, 1950, he spent his life building deep connections, sharing laughter and leaving behind stories that will be retold for years to come.

He made his home in Mesa, Arizona, a place he loved and where he built a life filled with family, friendship and familiar routines.

A proud graduate of DeVry, David launched a long and successful career with Motorola. His colleagues knew him as a steady hand - smart, reliable and always ready with a solution. He approached his work with the same quiet confidence he brought to the rest of his life.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Edith Clair and Frederick David Busch, whom he honored with his loyalty, humor and the values instilled in him.

He is survived by his sister, Karen Clements and her husband, Theron, who were constant sources of love and support. David also leaves behind his three nephews - Jonathon, David and Robert - each of whom he adored. His bond with them was strong, especially with Robert, his Super Bowl Sunday partner-in-crime. Those annual football gatherings became cherished traditions, filled with snacks, commentary and Big Dave's unmistakable enthusiasm.

A lifelong Beatles fan, David could talk for hours about the band's music, history, and the way their songs shaped his generation. And in true Big Dave fashion, he never missed a chance to remind people - often with a grin - that he was the all-time greatest basketball player at Saint Mary's High School. Whether or not the record books agree, his confidence and storytelling made the title feel absolutely true.

David will be remembered for his humor, warmth and the unmistakable presence he brought into every room. His legacy lives on in the memories he created, the laughter he inspired and the family who loved him deeply.

May he rest in peace.

My heart ached upon hearing of the passing of David. I have such wonderful memories of all the shenanigans from back at the 38th Place days. David was always a kind, genuine and understanding friend, who was a class act and a part of our family. You knew you could always count on. I will miss you David. I will always hold the good ole days close to my heart. Rest in peace, my friend. Julie
