About Dale Curtis Carroll

Dale Curtis Carroll, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, Arizona, on April 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born June 30, 1940, in Crescent, Utah, and raised on a farm in Highland, Utah.

Dale graduated from American Fork High School, "Go Cavemen", where he met his sweetheart, Bonnie Jean Boren. While at AF High, he was the starting Quarterback and Student Body President. He went on to attend the University of Utah and was a lifelong Utes Football & Basketball fan.

Dale and Bonnie were married on June 3, 1960 in American Fork, Utah and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 16, 1962. They were happily married for 65 years.

Dale worked for multiple companies in the Semiconductor "Quality Control" industry for over 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Scott (Karen) Carroll, Todd (Liz) Carroll, Mark Carroll, Dustin (Bridget) Carroll; 13 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren (with 3 more on the way); 2 brothers Kent and Lamar and his sister Karen. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori, brothers Kay & Ron and his parents DeMar and Marjorie.

Dale loved playing the trumpet and listening to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass as well as The Eagles. He also loved watching sports, especially college football, basketball and golf. He enjoyed traveling with his family and some of his favorite trips were to Yellowstone, Alaska, Paris, the Panama Canal, and boys trips to Las Vegas. He loved playing Poker, Bingo and Rummikub with his family, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and firearms.

His lifelong service at church included being in the Stake Presidency and the Bishopric of the YSA ward at ASU. He served as an Institute Service Missionary with his wife Bonnie for 10 years. Dale was an avid Scouter and Young Men’s leader for many years and each of his four boys achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was especially talented at serving with the youth and young adults.

He was known for his zest for life and cheerful personality, and people were drawn to be around him. Most of all, he was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who found his greatest joy in being with them and seeing them grow up.

The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life. They would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, family members, and church members who offered kind words, prayers, and support. They also extend their thanks to Hospice of the Valley, who helped care for Dale with great compassion during the final weeks of his life.

So sorry to hear you passed. I forever remember you as my awesome cousin. You were instrumental in my personal protection and I still carry the xd you sold me that you used to use. It is a treasured item for sure. Much love to all the family. And may you now be reunited with all those who moved on before you.

You were such great friends. We stayed up into the wee hours playing cards when we were young. You were my rock when I needed it! You two have always been in my heart and mind. So sorry!❤️

Dear Carrol family, What a great man and friend Dale was to Rob Call. He was apart of my childhood. I appreciate the friendship I had with Scott and Todd. May your families feel the love of the Lord and peace that only he can provide. Families are Forever. So sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear of "uncle" Dayle's passing. I have fond memories of him at our family reunions when I was a kid. It's amazing to see how strong the family resemblance still was from Demar's and LaVor's children. I wish we could have gotten together more as a family, but I know right now they are all together having a blast hunting, fishing and camping.

What a great man! I’ll miss his infectious smile, stories, wit, and unforgettable laugh. And of course, those knuckles. He was so kind to our staff and an absolute fan favorite. I’m sure heaven has already been blessed with a few stories, a lot of laughter, and more than a few knuckles for a job well done.
