About Zoey Lynn Hancock

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend, Zoey Lynn Hancock, age 17, on September 2, 2025.

Born on June 20, 2008, in Mesa, AZ, Zoey lived a life full of joy, love, and determination.

Zoey’s radiant spirit lit up every room she entered. She loved her family deeply, cherished her friends, and found adventure in the outdoors. Her smile, laughter, and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

A proud Mountain Lion at Red Mountain High School, she was a standout varsity athlete, competing in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Beyond athletics, Zoey was also an exceptional student with a bright future ahead. She was musically talented, playing both piano and percussion instruments, and expressed her creativity in many ways, from crochet to other arts.

Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, friends, teammates, and all who loved her.

Zoey is survived by her mother, Tiffany Gardner, father, Joshua Hancock, step-father, Cory Gardner, step-mother, Eryka Cabanillas, brother, Weston Hancock, sister, Sadie Hancock, step-brothers, Mason and Gunner Cabanillas, as well as her grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins who love her dearly.

Services to honor Zoey’s life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel, 6942 East Brown Rd, Mesa, AZ 85205, across from Red Mountain High School.

She will be laid to rest in Alpine, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please visit Zoey’s website and consider donating to charities we feel she would support. www.zoeyhancock.com
