About Waunita “Nita” Ann Myrick

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Waunita “Nita” Ann Myrick, age 77, of Mesa, Arizona. Nita died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

She was born on April 21, 1947, in Flagstaff, Arizona, to Velma Ann Fuller (Curry) and Orin Thomas Fuller. Nita graduated from Gilbert High School in 1965 and pursued a career in cosmetology, obtaining her license soon after. On November 7, 1969, she married her loving husband, Keith Charles Myrick, at the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together, they raised five children in Mesa, Arizona – three daughters and two sons.

Nita will be remembered for her devotion to her family, friends, and church, and her kindness, good nature, and sense of humor. She is survived by her beloved husband, Keith; children: Mindy Brewes, Malisa Cannon, Marcie Hicks, Brandon Myrick, and Mead Myrick; grandchildren: Sierra, Colin, Matthew, and Allie Cannon; Bryton Hicks; and Aubree, Cooper, and Pyper Myrick. Nita is also survived by her brother, George Fuller, and sister, Razetta Skousen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Fuller.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing service at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 20, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., both held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The dedication of the graveside will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Mesa Cemetery.

Nita will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her loving memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

I am so sorry to hear this. Nita and Keith were among our very first married couple friends back in North Carolina. And then they were at the wedding of our oldest daughter when it was held in Mesa. She was always smiling and most helpful. My condolences to Keith and the family.
