About Robert Merle Goodman II    (Bubba)

Robert Merle Goodman II, age 60, born on April 13, 1965, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 13, 2026. He is survived by his mother, Georgia Goodman, and sisters, Catherine Margaritis and Janice Connolly. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Goodman; his sister, Denna Strebe; and his nephew, Damon Margaritis.

Robert graduated from Mesa High School in 1987. He later retired from Fry’s Food Stores after 29 years of dedicated service. He truly loved his job, his customers, and his colleagues; even before starting his career there, he always had a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.

Family meant everything to Robert. He loved all his cousins, uncles, and aunts, and he especially cherished his many years of being “Uncle Bubba” to his nieces and nephews. He built wonderful memories with them that they will treasure forever.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Robert found great joy in his faith and especially loved attending the temple.

Robert made friends everywhere he went, leaving a positive impact on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and most especially by his family.

I met bubba for the first time in 2013 at one of Cats fry bread events. I married his Niece, Brittany, in 2018.

Bubba was a beacon to everyone who knew him. He’d often prank call us in the middle of the night claiming that Mesa PD was outside our house.

I’m going to miss his laugh & the joy he brought.
