About Michael Charles Jones

Michael Charles Jones, 66, of Gilbert, AZ passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife and children, on August 23, 2016.

He was born on August 21, 1950 to Earnest Howard and Berna Jones. He has two siblings, Jeffrey Jones and Anne Nugent. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Austria and served in many capacities for the church throughout his life. He earned a BA from Brigham Young University followed by a JD from Georgetown University. He practiced health care law.

Michael and his wife of 43 years, Melinda Warner Jones, are the loving parents of 7 children, Michael Jones, Corbin Jones, McKinley Royce, Whitney Jones, Spencer Jones, Taliesin Carley, and Nicholas Jones. He was survived by his aforementioned wife, parents, siblings, children, and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services are Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, East Highland Stake Center, 3580 E. Houston Avenue, Gilbert, Arizona.

    My heart and prayers goes out to the family. I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that death was never a part of God’s plan. Death is God’s enemy and it is not stronger than God. Just as our heavenly father had the desire and the power to create life, motivated by that same desire and by means of that power, he promises to undo death. Even though death causes great sadness to those left behind to grieve, God’s wonderful promises gives us a reason for joy … 1 Corinthians 15:26; John 5:28, 29; Revelations 21:3, 4.
