About Etta Fern Johnson/Cline

Etta Fern Cline, aged 94, passed away September 18, 2025 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on November 9, 1930 in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Laura (nee Polston) and James Johnson. She met and married her husband, Paul Cline, in Mesa when she was 16 and he was 18. They were married for 76 years. She was a lifelong homemaker and military wife and traveled the world with Paul and their family, living in places like Libya, Germany and Iran. She was the matriarch of the Cline family being preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Jack Johnson, two sisters, Addie May Johnson, and Rosalie Morris, and one son, James Cline.  She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Charles) de Masi, and Sharon (Henry) Burgunder, all of Mesa, and one son, Mark (Debra) Cline, of Harrah Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and eight great, great grandchildren. She was interred with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
