About Alan H Hardy
Alan H Hardy 69, passed away December 6, 2025.
Alan was born August 26, 1956 to Heber Palmer Hardy and Barbara Smith Hardy in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the middle child of the family with siblings: Debbie Williams (Lynn), Michael S Hardy (Jeanie), Kaylene Veibell (Scott), and Alecia Shinkle (Jerry).
Alan loved any and all sports from a young age pitching in Little League to Varsity Basketball and Football. He enjoyed camping, hiking and boating with family. His greatest joy was slalom skiing on any lake but especially at Lake Powell. He had a beautiful singing voice and also played the guitar.
Alan served a 2 year church mission to Northern Italy. He mastered the Italian language and loved serving there. Recently he was reading his scriptures in Italian and revisiting the language that he loved.
Alan was an excellent student. He attended Brigham Young University and graduated in Accounting. He transitioned from the usual accounting world into business software systems. Alans’ warm manner and easy going personality won the hearts of his peers across the ERP ecosystem.
His most important role was that of being “Dad” or “Daddy” to his 5 children: Marc Hardy (Kari), Jenni More (Phil), Kristine Kirk (Todd), Lindsay Millard (Jeffrey) and Deanna (Eric). He was also “Papa” to 12 grandchildren and one on the way. Alan met Patti in 2010 and they married later that year. This union added 5 “bonus” children: Sarah Fuller (Bradley), Anthony Mackelprang (Robyn), Aimee Lewis, Melissa Mackelprang-Johnston (Kevin) and Tina Parrott as well as 19 “bonus” grandchildren. He treated them all as his own.
Alan had a double lung transplant in 2022. He was grateful for a second chance at life. He made it a goal to talk to all the doctors, nurses and staff as a friend and get to know them, and they became family. To quote Maya Angelou, “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what”. That was Alan Hardy.
