About Theril H. Lund
Theril H. Lund passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Theril was born on June 24, 1955, in Long Beach, California, to Theril Lester Lund and Myrna Joy Howard. He spent his early childhood in Hollywood, Long Beach, and Palos Verdes alongside his older sister, Pam, before his father’s career took the family to Houston, Texas, and later to Atlanta, Georgia.
From an early age, Theril loved baseball, go-karts, and dirt bikes. While living in Atlanta, his father was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away shortly after. His mother then relocated the family to Utah to be closer to relatives, where Theril deepened his connection with his grandparents and many cousins.
The family settled in Bountiful, Utah, where Theril entered junior high. Living at the base of the mountains, he developed a lifelong love for adventure. He persuaded his mom to let him buy a dirt bike, and from then on, he rode through the mountains from Farmington to Salt Lake City—where the rides just got bigger and faster, a passion that carried through his life and became something he was known for.
During his school years, Theril was an active athlete, playing baseball, football, tennis, hockey, and participating in track. He even started the bowling team at Bountiful High School, where he graduated from in 1973. Theril then went on to continue his education while attending Utah State University and Weber State University.
On September 19,1980, Theril married Loni Logan, and they made their home in North Salt Lake City, Utah, where he completed his degree in accounting and became a CPA. They welcomed their first two children, Jill and Craig, during this time. In 1986, Theril returned to his beloved Long Beach, California, for a year before relocating to the Roseville/Granite Bay, California area, where their son Mark was born.
Over the years, Theril worked in automotive, grocery, technology, construction, while using his CPA in accounting. He became a partner at a CPA firm and helped launch what is now Peak Investment Solutions, guiding clients in building their financial futures. In 2003, after retiring from his CPA partnership, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where Theril worked as General Manager for Freightliner of Arizona. He also continued to grow Peak Investment Solutions and later helped start EVO Natural Gas, expanding his career into energy investments.
Beyond his career, Theril loved being involved in his children’s sports and activities, creating lifelong memories and friendships. After retiring at 60, he returned to his Long Beach roots, enjoying time at his home there as well as in Arizona. He filled his days with golf, beach trips, collecting cars, performance driving, car shows, and air shows.
Most importantly, Theril cherished being “Papa” to his grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy.
Theril is preceded in death by his parents, Myrna Joy Howard and Theril Lester Lund, and his sister, Pamela Sue Evans. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Loni Lund, children Jill Hutchings (Ryan), Theril Craig Lund (Catriona), and Mark Lund (Robin); and his beloved grandchildren Jayna, Jayden, Brynley, Theril Hudson, Presley, Maverick, and Luna; along with an aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Theril will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of family, and the many lives he touched with kindness and laughter.

Theril started out as my boss. He became my mentor and a cherished friend. He was a brilliant man with a great attitude and clever wit. I will truly miss our conversations over lunch and our adrenaline filled days at the track. God be with you my friend!
Theril was my mentor and played an instrumental role in building SportTruckRV into what it is today. He was brilliant, kind, witty, and always knew how to make people smile.
Theril introduced Kai and me and inspired us to start the Charity Track Day, a cause close to our hearts. His guidance, humor, and wisdom have left an indelible mark on all of us, and he will be greatly missed.

As doctors, we’re often told to keep our emotions at a distance. But today, I can’t hide the truth of what’s in my heart. In losing him, I haven’t just lost a patient – I’ve lost a true friend, almost like a brother.
He carried himself with such grace. No matter how tough things got, he would meet me with a smile. Where most people might complain, he never lost hope. His strength, his dignity, and his warmth lifted everyone around him — and he inspired me more than I can put into words.
Our journey together was long. I may have cared for him as a physician, but in return, he gave me something much greater: courage, faith, and the reminder that the human spirit is stronger than any illness. Whenever we met, there was laughter, light jokes, and joyful moments – often shared together with his wife, Loni. Those memories will stay with me forever.
Today, I mourn him not as a doctor, but as someone deeply blessed to have known him. His memory will live on with me – as a friend, as an inspiration, and as a rare soul who made this world brighter.
My deepest condolences go out to his beloved wife, Loni, and to his children – Ryan, Catriona, and Mark. May God grant them strength and peace, and may his soul rest in eternal light.

Theril will definitely be remembered and MISSED. He was someone that we all loved because of his kindness and his outgoing nature. He considered everyone as his friend. His heart was bigger than his muscles, if that is possible. I loved every minute that I was able to spend with him. I will miss him!!!
Barb and I send our love and prayers to Loni and his family.

Our deepest condolences to the family. We will greatly miss our friend Theril. I will always remember my collector car buddy Theril. We went to many shows and enjoyed the time with Theril and Loni. I can still see his smiling face and that ear to ear grin when he won first place for one of his favorite cars, the Cuda. He was so modest and surprised. The look on his face said it all. I will always remember him that way and we will miss him greatly. You will always be in our hearts. Goodbye to our friend. Peace to the family. Tom and Lisa.

I really enjoyed being Theril and Loni’s Home Teacher and getting to know them. Theril was a great guy and faced his health challenges with courage (as did Loni) and continued living a full and rich life. I’m grateful for the time I spent with Theril and Loni. He will be greatly missed.
