Charles Clouse

Clouse, Charles McKay, 80, of Mesa, Arizona passed away June 26, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born August 15, 1928 in Virden, New Mexico to William O. and Edith Jones Clouse. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern California Mission. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. He married his eternal companion Elizabeth Crum on May 26, 1953 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They have been married for 56 years. Together they raised their family in Virden, New Mexico, later moving to Mesa to enjoy serving in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Charles loved farming– especially raising cattle. He also was a rural postal carrier for 28 years. Charles is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth and his five children– Melanie (Jim Price), Nyla (John Payne), Jeanie (Max Germaine), Charles Kent Clouse (Shelley), and Carole (Mark Nicholas), 25 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. He led by example and his posterity will always remember his honesty, integrity, and service to the Lord. Funeral services are Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM preceded by a visitation at 9:00 AM at the LDS Three Fountains Ward, 1852 N. Stapley Rd., Mesa, AZ. Interment will follow that evening at the Virden Cemetery at 5:00 PM. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.

Brian Beecroft

Beecroft, Brian Earl

Born May 24, 1984, at the age of 25, returned to his Father in Heaven, on June 20, 2009, after his battle with colon cancer. Brian grew up in Gilbert, Arizona, attended Highland High for three years and then he graduated at Higley High. Brian was an amazing individual , he loved his Ford Lightning, motorcycles, sand rails, advanced diving, wakeboarding, snowboarding, photography and fishing. He excelled at all he loved to do. We all admired him. He had such a tender heart and strength beyond what anyone could imagine. He will be missed dearly. Brian is survived by his parents Earl and Sherrie Beecroft, sister Stephanie Whitfield, brother Bryce Beecroft, and two nieces- Navie and Lila. Come and celebrate Brian’s life from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday June 30, 2009 at the Beecroft home 3662 E. Pinon Ct. Gilbert, Arizona. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1,2009, from 8:30am to 9:45am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Highland Stake Center, 3580 E. Houston, Gilbert, Arizona with funeral to follow at 10 a.m.

Patti Lloyd
1949/12/18 - 2009/06/23

Patti Ianni Lloyd, loving wife and mother; devoted sister and daughter; world’s greatest Nani; inspiring friend and mentor. Patti Ianni Lloyd was all of these things and much more to her family and friends. Patti was born on December 18, 1949 in Winslow, Arizona, the second of four children born to Ray and Joyce Ianni. She died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 peacefully at home in Gilbert, Arizona after a heroic four year battle against leiomyosarcoma (LMS). Growing up in Winslow, she was an outstanding competitive swimmer, a member of the National Honor Society and a majorette for the Winslow High School Band. She graduated from Winslow H.S. in 1967 and moved to Flagstaff to attend college where she met David Lloyd. They were married in 1968. In 1969, their son Jim was born. By then, David had joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a pilot and David and Patti moved to Florida, Texas, and Hawaii. In Hawaii, their second son, Maki, was born in 1971. In 1976, they settled in Fort Worth and Patti began working at the North Texas Health Science Center and would work there until her retirement in 2006. In 2007, Patti and David moved back to Arizona to be closer to family.

After she was diagnosed with LMS in 2005, Patti became very involved in the LMS community and to contributing to find a cure for this terrible disease. Throughout her battle, she never let her illness dictate the terms of her life and instead took every opportunity to enjoy her time in this world and her loved ones. She drew inspiration from the many friends she met at the LMS Hugfest and through other communities and her strength and determination are an inspiration to others facing the challenge of LMS. Lana Bartel

Bartel, Lana Sue, 66, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2009 surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 16, 1942 in Gilmer, Texas, Lana grew up in Scottsdale, AZ, graduating from Scottsdale High and later attending BYU. In 1962 she married her eternal companion and was ultimately blessed with 3 wonderful children. A member of the LDS Church, Lana lived her religion with uncommon devotion. Her love for and service to her Savior and her family was the very essence of her life. She is survived by her husband Robert, son Brent, daughter Lori, mother Fay, and four beautiful grandkids. She was preceded in death by her youngest son Chad. She has left an eternal legacy of love and faith as she graduates to a grand and glorious work. Her life will be memorialized on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 AM, preceded by a viewing at 9:30 AM at the Ridge Ward Chapel, 2220 N. Harris Dr., Mesa, AZ 85203.

Ronald Lax

Ronald H. Lax, of Mesa, AZ passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, June 7, 2009. He was born July 5, 1931 in East Chicago, Lake, Indiana to Joseph Franklin and Carrie Rose Falcone Lax. Ron grew up in Indiana, attending Washington High School; it was there he met Donna. They were married July 1, 1951. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and Master’s degree from Indiana University Ron and his family moved to Arizona where he taught mathematics at Globe Junior High, Powell Junior High and Mountain View High School. He loved traveling, spending time with friends and family and genealogy. He was proud of the work he accomplished indexing genealogical records for the FamilySearch database and continued that work up to the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David (Doreen) and Bruce (Joan). He is survived by his wife, Donna Criswell Lax. Also survived by his brother Jack (Dorothy) Lax, his children Ronna (Dennis) Denton, Vallerie Lax Gardner, Sandy Lax Beals and Sheila (Ted) Heap, 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The viewing will be Friday, June 12, 2009 from 6 – 8 PM at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr. in Mesa. Funeral services are Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Signal Butte Building, 618 S. Signal Butte Rd., Mesa. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Robinson, James Daniel, 52, of Mesa, AZ passed away on June 4th, 2009, due to complications from a work-related injury. Daniel was self-employed, operating Pro-Tech Security for more than 22 years. Daniel’s greatest love was fishing, anywhere, anytime. He was known by friends and family as a quiet, gentle, and kind man. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae Thomas. He is survived by his father, J Ronald Robinson, siblings Chad, Randy (Laura), Jenny Burnham (Lynn), Michael, Ted (Rene) and Susan Birch (Rod), and 22 nieces and nephews. Bradley Paul Jones, 35, passed away in Mesa, AZ June 2, 2009. Brad was raised in Mesa, attending Mountain View High School, 1989-1991 where he served as Student Body President. He was a member of the marching band, active in drama and debate. Brad’s relationships embraced friends from every walk of life. He is survived by his parents Don and Ann Jones, brother Chris (Tracy) and daughter Vivian. Sharon was a loving and devoted wife of 42 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served diligently in many callings, including faithful temple worker for many years. She is survived by her loving husband David, daughters Kristen Heywood (Gaylon), Charai Layton (Jon), Lisa Carter (Jason), Tiffany Cluff (Tyler), and sons David T. Keeling (Dova), and Jared Keeling (Heidi), 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday June 5th at the LDS Salt River Stake Center located at the 6000 block of east Brown Road in Mesa. A viewing will also be held the evening before at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 North Centennial Way in Mesa, from 6 to 8 PM.
