Adrian (Rocko) M. Stuke, 71, of Mesa, Arizona was called home peacefully on February 15, 2013 after a battle with cancer. Adrian was born September 30, 1941 to Adrian Sr. and Frances Stuke in Quincy, IL where he grew up and graduated from Quincy Notre Dame High School. Adrian joined the Navy and was very proud to be submariner. After his military career, Adrian moved to Mesa, Arizona where he began his second career at Motorola. There he met the love of his life, Janie Denning. Adrian was a member of the US Submarine Veterans where he served as Vice Commander. He is survived by his loving wife Janie, son Troy (Beth) of Arizona, sister’s Sharon (Bob) Schonhoff and Patty (Bob) Kelley both of Quincy, IL, grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. There will be a viewing at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be held at National Veteran’s Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix on Wednesday morning.

Harold Evans, age 82, passed away at home in Mesa on February 14, 2013. Born in Quincy, Illinois on April 10, 1930, Harold was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Fannie Elizabeth Evans, a sister, Dorothy Shriver, and a brother, Eugene Evans. Surviving are sisters, Lucille Tallcott, Lois Williams, Dolores (Bill) Duncan, and Nancy (Bill) Gillenwater, and brother Bill (Ruth) Evans. Harold is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pat, and three adult children: Rob Evans of Phoenix, Marcie (Irv) Schulman of Rye Brook, NY, and Will Evans of El Sobrante CA. Surviving also are granddaughter, Lia, and grandson, Patrick. An extended family and many friends will miss him.

Harold attended school in Mendon, IL, served in the Army, attended University of Illinois, and then moved to Arizona some fifty years ago. After retiring from Valley National Bank, he continued to work in agriculture until the last two years. He was always ready to drive through the fields and desert of Arizona. Arrangements are entrusted to Bunker University Chapel, Mesa, 3529 E University Drive. The family hopes that contributions to a favorite charity of one’s choice or to Mendon Congregation U.C.C., 106 E. High Street, Mendon, IL 62351, will be considered in lieu of flowers.

Following the services, the family would like to host everyone for lunch nearby at: Rancho de Tia Rosa, 3129 E. McKellips Rd., Mesa, AZ. After lunch, the family will welcome visitors for coffee and pastries at their home.

Dan Alvin Goodman, 84 passed away peacefully February 13, 2013. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather (g-g pa). Dan was born on January 29, 1929 in Miami AZ. He was a native Arizonian, raised in Safford, lived in Casa Grande for 12 years, moved to Mesa in 1961. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Delta. He is survived by their son Fred A. (Bonnie) Goodman, grandchildren, Daffney (Michael) Liu, Dan L. (Amanda) Goodman, Anji (Brett) Davis, Amanda (Chris) Dempsey, seven great-grandchildren Jordan, Matthew, Keiren, Kailyn, Aidan, Andrew, Riley, two nephews, many nieces and cousins. He retired from Valley National Bank (known as Chase) after 44 years, at the time the longest employee of the bank. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions of service in the church. Services will be held Tuesday Feb. 19, 2013 at 10AM with a visitation at 9AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1718 N. Date Mesa, AZ. Edna Faye Smith, 96, daughter of George and Celia Graeber, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Good Shepherd Villa in Mesa, AZ. Funeral services are Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 6:30 PM, preceded by a visitation at 5 PM, at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. Interment will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 AM at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ.

Milo Richard LeBaron Jr. (80) passed away February 8, 2013. He was born on June 27, 1932 in Mesa Arizona to Milo and Wanda Hill LeBaron. Milo is survived by his wife of 61 years Donna Brinton LeBaron, his 6 children Christi Palmer (Denny), Cherie Rapier (Dave), Laura Skinner (Dan), Milo LeBaron,III (Julia), Diana Huish (Eric), and Elise Nielson, 32 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 4 siblings, Jan Carroll, Sally Sue Nelson, Cheryl Cummard, and Michael LeBaron. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, and was blessed to serve in many callings, including Scout Master, Bishop, and several mission. He served as Mission President of the Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City, Temple Square Missions. He was the co-owner of LeBaron & Carroll Insurance, and served locally, and nationally, for the Independent Insurance Agents of America. But most of all, he loved the time spent with his family, camping, traveling, playing games, time at the cabin, and even shopping. In the last years of his life he was given loving care by his wife, family, Hospice of the Valley, and Citrus Manor Care Center. Kenneth W. Spaulding was blessed to go live with his Heavenly Father on 2-06-13. He peacefully passed away at home while with his loving wife of 63 years, Omia Fay Spaulding. Together they had created a wonderful family. He is survived by his wife, son Keith Spaulding and daughters Diana Cramp, Patsy Baker and Debbie Spaulding along with 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his 2 brothers and 1 sister. His “hard work” ethic was rewarded with retirement from Magma Copper Mine and Mesa Public Schools. He was a man of few words but full of knowledge and expertise in farming, horses, building barns & fences, and witty sayings. He will always be cherished and remembered by his family and many friends. Funeral services are Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at 12 noon, preceded by a visitation at 11 AM at Victory Tabernacle, 339 S. Margaret Shumway Sevey, born Feb. 10, 1920, passed away peacefully on Feb 2, 2013 after a short bout with pneumonia. She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard. She is survived by 6 children—Sylvia Bielefeldt, Myrna Sheppard, Vaunda Capps, John Sevey, Richard Sevey, and Melisa Hyde. She was very proud of her 35 Grandchildren and 88 Great Grandchildren. Margaret served all of her life as an active member of the LDS Church, and was a great example to her family and friends. She had a teaching degree and was known as an amazing family historian, who published a number of ancestral life histories. A viewing will be held Feb. 8 from 6 to 8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel (33 N. Centennial Way) in Mesa. Funeral services will be held on Feb 9, 2013 at 10 AM at the Ironwood Ward, 2520 E. Old West Highway, Apache Junction.

Joan E. Romney Udall

Our angel mother passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013. Joan Estelle LeDosquet was born on Jan. 23, 1925 in Williston, ND. After graduating from high school, Joan moved to Utah with her parents in 1943. She met Wayne Lafay Romney while applying for a job and it was love at first sight. They were engaged in December and married the following June. They had 3 children in Utah; moved to Phoenix in 1952 and had 3 more children. Joan was a wonderful mother and served in various volunteer capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joan took special care of Wayne when his health declined and he died in 1986. She was a widow for 14 years and surprised her children when she announced that she would marry Nicholas John Udall in February of 2000. They had 5 great years together until Nick’s passing in 2005. Sadly, Joan was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph Scott Romney in 2008. Joan’s family includes 6 children, Richard Wayne Romney (Kathleen Adair), Robert Alden Romney (Debra Larson), Diane Romney Vella (Joseph Vella), Joseph Scott Romney (Nicala Wanic), William Orin Romney (Stephanie Davis) and John LeDosquet Romney (Connie Singleton), 35 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lakeside Ward, 1005 N. Voyager Dr., Gilbert, AZ. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the Lakeside Ward building and also Saturday at 10 AM. Burial will be at Green Acres Cemetery Monday, February 4th. Reah Wardle Sanders, 92, peacefully passed away January 22, 2013, after a very full and active life of love and service. She was born May 18, 1920 in St. Anthony, ID to Charles Myers and Harriet Rhodehouse Wardle and was next to the youngest of 15 children. She married Orville Thomas Sanders (Tom, O.T.) on June 18, 1938 in Caldwell, ID. They were sealed in the LDS Logan Utah Temple June 18, 1940. They had five children, Thomas Charles (Kathy), Walter Richard (Judy), Harry James, Jerry Michael (Charlotte), and Nancy Carol (Mark Pullman). Tom and sons Thomas Charles, Harry, and Jerry preceded her in death. Reah was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a teacher of children and youth and in Relief Society. Tom served as a US Marine in the South Pacific during WWII, leaving Reah at home with three little boys. After the war they moved to Caldwell, ID to raise their family. She also helped in their appliance store and was an excellent cook, gardener, painter and seamstress. In their retirement years, they moved to Mesa, AZ where they made many dear friends. They loved to dance, travel and served in the Boise and Mesa LDS Temples. Reah is survived by son Walter Richard and daughter Nancy Carol, 19 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. The celebration of her life and her funeral will take place Friday, February 1, 2013, at 11 AM, preceded by a visitation at 10 AM at the LDS chapel at 2265 S. Hawes Rd. in east Mesa. We are thankful for those who cared for Reah during her last years with such kindness, especially her daughter-in-law, Kathy Moody Sanders, many people of the LDS Hawes Ward, Hospice and Arbor Rose, in east Mesa. Lela Faye Morrison, affectionately known as Bunky, went to be with her loved ones in Heaven on January 24, 2013. She was born to James and Florence Carlton on June 19, 1932, in Gillette, WY. She kept a piece of Wyoming in her heart, even as she added Arizona to her list of favorites. Bunky moved from Wyoming to Arizona in the early 50s to marry the love of her life, Kenny. Soon after, they started their family and worked hard on their farm and ranch together throughout their lifetime. Bunky is survived by her daughter, Dawnie and her husband Justin Stewart, and sons, Glen, and Dale. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Don and Arlene Carlton. She will be dearly missed by her five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. When Bunky became a great-grandmother, she became known as GG, short for “Great Grandmother” and everyone that knew her, agrees that she was truly great. She loved her kids, grand kids and great-grand kids. Her favorite past time was spending time with each and every one of them and telling them how much they were loved. Bunky spent many hours walking her beloved dogs along the field roads around their home in Higley, Arizona, enjoying the peacefulness and beauty of the farm. She also loved being up on the family Ranch in Northern Arizona. She looked forward to the hard work of Roundup. She spent long days preparing food for the cowboys as they came in from gathering, branding and working the cattle. Bunky loved being with people. Her husband always said, “She was the first to get somewhere and the last to leave.
