Charles “Chuck” Machacek, passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, AZ; 10-22-2014 surrounded by family and friends.  Chuck was born 1-17-1929 at the family farm near Dresden, ND.  He farmed in the Dresden area 37 years until retiring in 1982.

He married Elaine Bohn, June 16, 1952 in Langdon, ND.  They resided on the farm until 1968 when they moved to their new home in Langdon.   He continued helping area farmers, bartended and was a cashier for Elaine at the Rainbow Bottle Stop.  Chuck was a Charter Member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Chapter 3454 in Langdon.  After retiring, enjoyed traveling and fishing in summers; and winters were spent in Mesa, AZ where he bowled and played pinochle.  He loved sports and his favorite teams were the AZ Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns.

He is survived by wife Elaine of 62 plus years.  Son: Kerry of Tempe, AZ, Son: Craig (Brenda) of Maple Grove, MN.  Grandsons: Weston and Evan and Great-granddaughter: Aspen, all of Maple Grove, MN and a very special friend Tom Rodning of Tempe, AZ.  He is also survived by Sisters: Mary (Tom) Mann; Theresa Jurek; Brother: Jim (Marsha) and sister-in-law: Betsy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles J and Mary (Berger) Machacek; Sisters: Lorraine Illerbrunn, Madeline Rohde, Florence Davidson, Lucille Domres, and Brother: Donald “Mac” Machacek and great grandson Jaxson.

Services will be held Oct. 31, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr, Mesa, AZ 85213. Interment at a later date at Calvary Cemetery at Langdon, ND.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 2020 E. Woodside Ct., Gilbert, AZ 85297.

Shirley Ann Jones, 64, passed away October 21, 2014 in Apache Junction, AZ. Robert Joseph Savelkoul, 72, Bottineau, ND, a winter resident of Mesa, AZ; passed away on October 19, 2014 in Mesa.  He was born March 9, 1942 in Minot. ND.  Funeral Services will be held in North Dakota with interment at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in Lansford, ND.

Staci Lukehart Stull, 50, passed away September 8, 2014 in Surprise, Arizona. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 2 PM, at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ.

Connie Elizabeth Lukehart, 78, passed away September 30, 2014 in Gilbert, Arizona. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 2 PM, at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ.

Margie Luneil Johnson passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 after a long illness. Luneil celebrated her 80th birthday this year on March 22. She was born in Moncks Corner, South Carolina in 1934 to McNeil and Marie Morris and was the fifth of thirteen children.

She is preceded in death by her parents McNeil and Marie Morris, brothers Robert, Wilson, Olin and James Morris, a sister, Emogene Peterson and Sisters-in-Law Joanne Morris and Renae Morris. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Vernon Johnson, daughter Aletha Jolley (Jeff), and sons Jeffery (Rhonda) and Markley (Shellee) Johnson, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Ozborne, John and Wendell Morris and sisters Elnora Wimmer, Daisy Orr, Sandra Carter and Linda Larson.

Luneil was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she happily and energetically served in the Young Women’s organization, as a young women’s president and Girls Camp Cook and as ward activities chairman. She also served in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. Luneil had an infectious, fun-loving nature and was always the life of the party. She would light up the room whenever she entered and was adored by all who knew her. Luneil loved singing, camping, fishing (as long as she didn’t have to touch the fish or the worm:) and shopping.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 16th from 6 to 8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, Arizona 85213. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10 AM, preceded by visitation at 9 AM, at the LDS Park Center Ward Chapel, 422 East University Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85203.

Noah Fred Arnett, 1 month, 7 days; passed away on October 11, 2014 in Gilbert, AZ.  Funeral Services will held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2014 with a visitation 2 hours prior at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Palo Verde Ward, 234 N. Greenfield Rd in Gilbert.

Patrick Roland Tebo, 69, of Mesa, AZ; passed away on October 9, 2014 in Mesa.  He was born in Statesvlle, NC on August  10, 1945.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 24^th at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. in Phoenix.

Martha Chipp Morrow, 94, of Mesa, Arizona; passed away on October 13, 2014 in Mesa.  She was born August 29, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frederich Arthur Chipp and Nellie Baker.  She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Woodrow T. Morrow and is survived by her sister: June Swift of Salt Lake City; Cousin: Mary Jones of Mesa, AZ; her beloved nieces and nephews and other loving extended family.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18^th with a visitation 1 hour prior at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Century Gardens Ward, 633 S. Higley Rd. in Mesa.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.  Bunker’s University Chapel handled the arrangements.

Alba Jean Ellsworth, 84, passed away October 9, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services are Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:30 AM, preceded by a visitation at 9:30 AM, at the Mesa 18th Ward Chapel located at 2228 East Brown Road, Mesa, Arizona.

Gary D. Moreno, 64, of Salt River, AZ, born August 20, 1950 in Sacaton, AZ was called home on October 11, 2014. There to meet him were his mother Katherine Stewart Moreno and his stepmother Dolores Moreno, and brother Calvin Smith. He is survived by his father Jess D. Moreno along with his two brothers and one sister. Left to carry on his traditions, are his children Martin L. Moreno, Caesar O. Manuel, Roxanne S.S. Moreno, Racquel W. Moreno, Jess E. Moreno. His legacy will be continued through his 15 grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Francis, Cassandra, Martin, Hannah, Anjel, Dwyane, Savannah, Oliver, Misiah, Ci-Ani, Trinity, Pryia, and Isabel. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance. OORAH! He loved being behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler hauling hay for Moreno’s Trucking, the family business in Tucson, AZ. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

June West Stephens, age 91, passed away October 13, 2014 peacefully at her home in Mesa, Arizona. June was born on June 22, 1923 in Pinetop, Arizona to Earl West and Elsie (Amos) West. She was preceded in death by her husband and eternal companion, Kenneth Colvin (K.C) Stephens. June is survived by her son David Stephens, grandchildren Clinton (Kara) Stephens, Shayna Stephens, and Kansas (Steven) Daley. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jensen Stephens. June was a loving and caring wife, mother, and friend who impacted the lives of all those she came in contact with.

Ida B. Owen, 90, passed away October 11, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Visitation is Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. Funeral services are Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10 AM at the LDS Elmwood Ward, 925 N. Harris, Mesa, AZ, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment at City of Mesa Cemetery.

Leola W. Dimond, 89, passed away October 11, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 8030 W. 4000 W., West Jordan, Utah. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.

Dalleta Jane Bell passed away after a brief illness on October 10, 2014 in Gilbert, AZ at the young age of 63. Dalleta is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Preston Bell, three children and three (children in-law) Michael (Crystal), Kenneth (Andrea), and Rebecca (Ken), as well as eight grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ellen Burrow, and a younger brother Wally.

Dalleta was born on June 9th, 1951 in Andrews, TX.  She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1969.  She then married the love of her life, Preston in 1971, and became a proud “Army Wife.”  After traveling around the United States and Europe, Dalleta and her family settled in Fort Irwin/Barstow, CA where she began her career as a DOD civilian for the U.S. Army. She retired in 2005 after 20 years of service.  After retirement, Dalleta enjoyed traveling and visiting family throughout the states.

Dalleta was accomplished at crocheting and often made works of art with her “needles and yarn.”  She was a generous individual who loved her family above all else, and who was passionate about her role as Grandma.  Her life was based on her family and she loved every second of that role.

Funeral services will be held on October 15, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa AZ. Reverend John Cunningham will officiate the ceremony.
