Mr. Daniel “Dan” Anthony Eulate died peacefully at home on March 11, 2018 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 49.
Dan is survived by his mother, Dolores Eulate; brother Joe Eulate (Karen); nieces Brooke Eulate and Paige Sheppard (Shea); nephew Kellen Eulate; and great nephew Scott Sheppard. Dan also leaves behind several cousins, aunts, uncles, and many, many dear friends. Dan is preceded in death by his father, Joe V. Eulate.
Dan was born on August 16, 1968 in Mesa, AZ to Dolores and Joe Eulate, the youngest of two children. Dan was a 1986 graduate of Mountain View High School and then attended Arizona State University. He had a passionate career with the cognitively disabled, helping each person he worked with at the Mesa MARC center, work toward his or her personal best. Dan loved music and the performing arts. A well rounded individual, Dan also had a passion for sports, in particular, softball where he lived the passion as a coach for the East Valley Pride. Dan also loved football and bantering about it with all who would listen.
A memorial will be held in Dan’s honor on Friday, March 23 at 10 AM at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 85207. An interment will follow immediately.

Judith Ann Dincher Burkholder Young, of Mesa, AZ died on her 66th birthday March 13, 2018 at 2:47am surrounded by her family and the spirit of the Lord. Born in Williamsport, PA she was the eldest child of Bernard J. and Helen L. (Yoder) Dincher. 

Surviving are her siblings in Pennsylvania: Barbara J. (Mark) Cellini, Williamsport, Thomas M. (Susan) Dincher, Loyalsock, Rita M. (Joseph) DelGrippo, Williamsport, Constance L. (Bart) Howard, Montoursville, and Joseph A. (Michelle) Dincher, Williamsport.  

Judith was preceded in death by her husband Dorsey James (Joe) Burkholder III., with whom she had three beautiful children with: Jody (Craig) Shannon, Mesa, AZ., Aaron (Tonya) Burkholder, Gilbert, AZ., and Marjorie (Samuel) Johns, Mesa, AZ.  Along with her children, she had nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Judith was a 1970 graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Williamsport PA.  Through her parent’s strong teachings, her dedication and perseverance began as a small child and carried on into her adulthood when she retired from Clear Title Agency of AZ., as a V.P. Branch Manager.  Her greatest journey in life was her travel from the small town of Oval, Pennsylvania to Mesa, Arizona in 1983. Judith’s greatest joy in life was her family, her faith, and enjoying God’s great gift of life: the great outdoors. She was a hardworking, loving, giving, strong-willed woman, who always got the job done no matter what the obstacles.

Judy’s viewing is being held Sunday, March 18th from 11am – 1pm at Bunker Family Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 19th at 11am, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N. McDonald Mesa, AZ 85201.

Mike Grannis was called home on March 12, 2018 after a long, brave battle with cancer. There to greet him were his grandparents and his twin brother, Todd.  Mike will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Jessica, mother Sharon, sister Stacy, brother Ryan, his nieces and nephews Tyler, Megan, Justin, Makenzi, Lindsay, Jadin, and Maci, as well as his aunts and uncles.

When Mike wasn’t trucking around the country with his beloved dog, Molly, he could usually be found outdoors listening to music, watching football or baseball, enjoying his many cruises, or munching on a taco, washed down with a cold beer.  

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 4:00 pm, preceded by a viewing at 3:00 pm at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr., Mesa.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley for their tireless, compassionate care during Mike’s last months of life.  

Don Rexford McCracken,79, passed away peacefully Sunday morning on March 11, 2018 at his home in Gilbert, AZ. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria (Tueller) McCracken; children Tawnya Marie (Jim) Holland, Robert Todd (Anneliese) McCracken, William Daren McCracken, Donae Christine (Darrin) Christensen and Chantel Elizabeth (Danny) Burrell. He is the Papa to 18 grandchildren that adore him: Kayla, Brigham, Makenna, Rylee, Adelyn, Jacob, Stacie, Rexford, Audrey, Coleson, Bailey, Tessa, Katelyn, Mason, Lacee, Porter, Drew and Wyatt.

Don was born to William Mertyshaw McCracken and Helen Dolin in Great Falls, Montana on January 12, 1939. Three days later his dad nicknamed him “Chunky McCracken” because he was such a butterball. He absolutely loved his nickname and it followed him throughout his life.

In kindergarten, his family moved to Southern California. Here his dad was employed as a WWII Navy Ship electrician. Later his family moved to Seattle, Washington and then returned back to Great Falls, Montana.

When he was 15 years old, Don’s mother passed away of a heart attack.  Soon after this tragedy his father William McCracken moved to Missoula, Montana for work.  Don did not want to move so his father gave him permission to stay behind in Great Falls.

During this difficult time, Don’s friends were his strength. Every Sunday, he would sit on the lawn of the LDS church where his friends attended. He would wait until church dismissed so they could go get donuts. Soon Don was taught the missionary discussions and chose to be baptized as a member of “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” He often said the gospel completely changed his life by giving him the knowledge of the plan of salvation.

At 16 years of age, Don moved himself to Choteau, Montana so he could be on the Varsity basketball team. There he worked for Bill and Susie Anderson as a butcher on their ranch. Susie soon discovered that Don was living on his own. She said, “Well I won’t have that!”  You will come and live with us immediately.” Susie was a tremendous blessing to Don and treated him as her own son. This is what inspired Don to open his own home to all who were lonely and needed a family to love them.  

Don graduated from Choteau High School in 1957. He then served in the 9^th Marine Corps Reserve and Recruitment District at the age of 19. Shortly thereafter, he went to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.  He loved Ricks college and the students that attended there.  He enjoyed their high standards and desires to serve the Lord.  He was then called to serve a 2 ½ year mission in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Don loved the humble people he served on his mission.  Part of his mission responsibilities included caring for the hungry.

At age 22, after Don completed his mission, he enrolled at Brigham Young University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology. It was here he met his eternal companion, Gloria Kay Tueller. They were married in the Mesa, AZ temple on September 8, 1967. Don shared, “I honestly try to treat Gloria with respect, dignity and kindness so she will want to live with me forever.” Through out the next 10 years Don and Gloria moved to Yellow Stone National Park, Yuma, AZ, Sacramento, CA and finally Mesa, AZ.

His career life included 27 years of computer sales for IBM. He was a great sales man due to his friendly demeanor and honest reputation.

Don always had great wisdom and advice. He was easy to talk to and made others feel loved and important. He lived by example and once said, “Start the morning with prayer. Count your blessings.  Ask Heavenly Father for the Spirit to help deal with life and the problems you have.  Then report to him at night to see how you have done. When I do this, I have a much better day.”

His legacy will be carried out forever through his posterity.

A viewing will be held Monday, March 19^th, 2018 from 6-8pm at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr. Mesa, AZ 85213. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 10 am, preceded by a visitation at 9am at the Gateway Stake Center, 2233 S. Wade Drive, Gilbert AZ 85296.

Robert Newell Chappell passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 87. Bob was born on September 22, 1930 in his grandfather’s country store in Hoytsville, Utah, and he grew up in the small town of Coalville. He had happy memories of playing with his younger brother Alex. They played with wooden blocks made by his dad, climbed trees, and built a “shack” out of packing crates. The love of building things stayed with him his whole life. He built houses, a garage, a shed, decks, canoes, and best of all, toys for the grandchildren who have had great fun playing with blocks, rocking horses, go-karts, mousetrap cars, and stilts made by grandpa.

Bob attended the University of Utah for two years before serving a mission to The Netherlands for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While there, he decided to pray for a testimony of the church and the Book of Mormon. He said, “I knelt in earnest prayer, and the resulting feeling within me has not allowed me to seriously doubt since. He loved his mission and the Dutch people, language, and culture. He could still speak Dutch fluently when he returned 30 years later for a visit. Just before his death, at 87 years old, he could still recall the people he taught and worked with.

Marva Lou Pulsipher wrote to Bob while on his mission, and they married in the Salt Lake temple when he returned. Bob joined the army during the Korean War, and when he was sent to Germany to work in counterintelligence, Marva went with him.

After his service in the army, Bob finished his master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Utah. He had a long career as an engineer, working at Hercules Industries in Salt Lake City, Lockheed Martin in Redlands, California, and the US Department of Energy in Idaho Falls and Denver. He loved solving puzzles and problems, and read widely about science and history.

Bob and Marva’s family grew to four children: Nancy, Robert, Marianne, and Melinda. Together they enjoyed a wonderful home with lots of family activities. Bob loved to read exciting adventure stories like Kidnapped and Treasure Island to his kids. He shared his love of hiking, fishing, camping, and canoeing with his family, taking them to national parks all over the West from Southern California to Canada. He was an expert packer and knot-tier when loading up the family station wagon.

In 1982, Bob lost his beloved Marva to cancer. He missed her terribly, but was an active grandfather, visiting his grown children across the country.

In 2008 he married Marian Irene Fuller, and had three wonderful years with her before her death in 2011. Bob and Marian loved doing family history together and visiting grandkids. Bob was so happy to have Marian’s son, Scott, and his family join the family.

In 2012, Bob married Betty Jo Taylor. They took trips to visit family, and enjoyed living in the mountains of Arizona. They cared for each other into their 80’s, and Bob and his family are especially grateful to Betty Jo for her care of him during his last months of critical illness.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Jo, his brother, Alex, four children, and a stepson. He leaves behind a large posterity of 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitations will be held at Bunker University Chapel located at 3529 East University, Mesa on Friday from 6-8pm and on Saturday morning at the LDS chapel on 1455 North Harris Drive, Mesa. The funeral service will be held from 9:30-10:30 at the same location. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 at the Mesa Cemetery located at 1212 North Center Street.

Larry A. Cassaday, long-time businessman and beloved family man, of Mesa, Arizona, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. The third of seven children, Larry was born on August 10, 1937, to Sylvester and Pauline (Altman) Cassaday of Hope, Michigan. He learned the value of hard work on the family farm. The Cassadays relocated to Arizona, where Larry graduated from Mesa High in 1955.  He joined the U.S. Army (Airborne) and served in Lebanon and Germany. He was a skilled marksman and represented his country in U.S. military and NATO competitions.

Upon his honorable discharge from the service, Larry returned to Mesa, where he met the love of his life, Emily France. They married on January 20, 1961 and purchased a small company called Mesa Fully Formed in 1969. Larry insisted on honesty, integrity, and quality as hallmarks of his business. Mesa Fully Formed has grown over the past forty-nine years to be a well-respected building subcontractor of countertops and bath components in Arizona.

Larry appreciated old cars, especially the ’35 Ford Open-Air Roadster he drove in numerous parades. He bought a ’29 Ford Model A more than forty-five years ago, and it still runs beautifully. It was an original Arizona vehicle bought from a dealership here in the valley long ago.

Larry supported the Suns, the Diamondbacks, the Cardinals, and his grandson’s football team, the Agua Fria Owls. He enjoyed horseback riding and owned several race horses, as well.  Always comfortable in a plaid shirt and a pair of jeans, Larry appreciated good country music.

Newlyweds at heart, Larry and Emily recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.  She survives, as do their two children, Colleen Kennedy (Mel), of Litchfield Park, and Kelly Cassaday (Heidi), of Victoria, British Columbia.  Larry was proud of each of his eight grandchildren, Carson, Emily, Kyle, and Michael Kennedy, and Benjamin, Hudson, Luke, and Noah Cassaday, and his four great-grandchildren.  

Larry is also survived by his brothers, Calvin Cassaday (Janet) of Mesa, and Bruce Cassaday (Ellen) of Denver, his sisters, Connie (Don) Freeman, Carol (Jim) Freeman, and Ellen Devericks, all of Michigan, his sister-in-law, Carolyn Roberson of Mesa, and his brother-in-law, Bruce Dundas, of Florida.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews Kathy Arthur, Karilyn Trent, Kirk Dundas, Keith Dundas, Doug Cassaday, Clark Freeman, Blaine Freeman, Kim Shea, Lori Fischer, Joel Freeman, Jeff Cassaday, Mark Cassaday, Tonya McDermid, Nick Cassaday, and Chad Devericks.   Preceding him in death are his parents and his sister, Emma Jean Dundas, his niece Natalie McDonald, his nephew Rusty Devericks, and his brothers-in-law, Roger France and Russ Devericks.

Larry was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Mesa. 

Please join with family and friends to honor Larry.  Visitation will be held at Bunker Family Funeral, 33 North Centennial Way in Mesa, on Friday, March 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 24, from 10 to 11 a.m.  A Celebration of Larry’s Life will follow on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.

Donna Dee Berrey, 84, of Salt Lake City, UT passed away on March 12, 2018 in Mesa, AZ with her family surrounding her. Donna was born in Brainerd, MN on July 17, 1933 but grew up in the Southwest which she loved. She raised her four children in Tucson, AZ and enjoyed holding many ‘Nana Camps’ for her 16 grandchildren there as well. She worked in the business world and was active in her church and many political and community action groups throughout her Tucson years. Donna was a talented artist and involved in professional art training for 30 years. She was a docent for the Tucson Museum of Art for over five years, and she taught art in elementary schools throughout the city. Her oil and watercolor paintings are displayed in many local businesses and private homes throughout Tucson and the Southwest. To those who have known and loved her paintings, the lonely windmill was her trademark.

After completing a full-time mission at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT, she met the love of her life, David Berrey. They’ve been happily married for the past 15 years. Their many shared adventures included a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Georgia, serving as ushers at the LDS Conference Center, volunteering at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, and traveling to find their past relatives on a wonderful trip to England and Scotland.

Donna is survived by her husband, David L. Berrey and his family, along with her four children: Thomas Jordan III, Linda Mariner, Douglas Jordan, and Roxane Shepard as well as her 16 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. A brief visitation will be held on Friday, March 16^th, 2018 at 12:00 pm followed immediately by a 1:00 pm Funeral Service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6901 E. Kenyon Drive, Tucson, AZ.

Fidencia G. Luna, 93, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Hospice of the Valley at St. Josephs in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on November 16, 1924 in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Frank Luna, 94. She is also survived by her daughters, Rosa Adame, Sally Cobos (Rene), Irma DiDomenico; her sons, Jerry (Dee), James (Lucy), Gary (Veronica); 24 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Zela Luna.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints, Lazona Ward, 1345 East University Drive, Mesa, Arizona. Services will be preceded by a visitation at 9 AM. Burial will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center St. Mesa, Arizona.

Donald Glen Millett left this earthly life and returned home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the age of 88. Don was born on June 11, 1929 in Mesa, Arizona to W. Howard Millett and Lillian Freestone Millett. Don had 5 siblings: Howard, Lyal, Teddy, Ethel Mae (all deceased) and Richard.

He had a wonderful childhood that consisted of playing with cousins, raising animals and working on their family farm, milking cows and hauling hay. He attended Mesa High School where he participated in choir, football, basketball and track. In 1947, he was the State Champion running the 200-yard low hurdles.  After high school, Don served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States Mission. In 1952, after serving his mission, he was sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple to Donna Joan Steffey. He always referred to Donna as “The Girl of his Dreams” because of a dream he had had. They had 5 children together: Daniel Millett (Colleen), Stephanie Reber (Keith), Donald Dean Millett (deceased), Cathleen Freeman (Craig), Mark Millett (Tami).

While raising their family, Don started out farming and then went into the Tractor business. While he was a Case tractor dealer, he grew to be the largest dealer in the Southwest. He eventually worked his way into selling Real Estate and getting his Brokers License. He made a career out of buying and developing land all around Arizona. His office, Don Millett and Associates, was located on the corner of Mesa Drive and 1st Avenue in Mesa for 45 years. He was the founder of the Mesa Sports Hall of Fame. In 1996 and 1997 Don & Donna served an LDS mission in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. He enthusiastically shared the Gospel with anyone he came in contact with and was a tremendous missionary throughout his life.

In his free time, Don loved to spend time up at his cabin in Christopher Creek, Arizona with Donna and his family. He was a devoted father and “Papa” and will always be remembered for his love of storytelling, tender heart and enthusiastic personality. He loved family history and genealogy and especially sharing family stories about his ancestors. In his lifetime he enjoyed activity in, and was a faithful member of, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent time serving as a member of the Bishopric, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Missionary (on 5 missions), but his favorite calling was serving as Scout Master for 5 years. He freely bore testimony of the mission of his Savior Jesus Christ, and His gospel. Don and Donna served in the Mesa Arizona Temple for 15 years. He was dearly loved by his family, friends and sweet wife Donna and will be sorely missed. He leaves behind a large posterity of 23 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren.  

Visitations will be held at Mesa Central Stake Center located at 925 N. Harris, Mesa, AZ 85203, on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday morning from 9 am to 9:45 am. The funeral service will be at the Mesa Central Stake building also located at 925 N. Harris, Mesa, Az 85203 on Saturday, March 17^th, at 10:00 am. Burial services will be held at the City of Mesa Cemetery following the funeral service located at 1212 N Center St, Mesa, AZ 85201. All who knew Don are invited to enjoy his remembrance and celebrate his life at these services.

Carl Ludlow, 91, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018.  Carl was born March 5, 1927, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. When he was three years old, Zula, his mother, passed away, tragically, while the family was in San Francisco, California. Feeling he could not care for the boys adequately, Carl’s father Edmund, left him and his then five-year-old brother James, with their maternal grandmother on her ranch in Wagon Mound, New Mexico. Carl lived in Wagon Mound until he was around age 18. During this time his father re-married and had a third child, Frances Mary. 

As a young man Carl served during World War II in the U.S Navy. After graduating from the University of New Mexico, he entered the Naval Reserve. Spending most of his early life in New Mexico, Carl moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957 where he was a consulting structural engineer for many years. He and his family also lived three years in Houston, Texas from 1966-1969. 

Carl married his first wife, Jo Anne Severance in 1951 with whom he had three children. Carl married his second wife Elizabeth (Betty) Shea, in 1974 and remained married to her until his death. 

Carl was an intelligent man who had a good sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He lived life to the fullest always enjoying being around his family and friends. Carl was a talented musician who loved playing the guitar and the violin. He took great pleasure in playing the guitar and singing with a group of retirees, the Pickers and Grinners.

In addition to his music Carl had a wide variety of interests. He loved visiting National Parks; he was a 35-year ASU Sun Devils football season ticket holder; he made two trips with the Sun Devils to the Rose Bowl Parade and New Year’s Day games. Carl also liked to travel abroad. He visited Ireland, Scotland, England, and made numerous trips to Canada and Mexico. Carl attended 30 Road Scholar (Elder Hostel) conferences.

Survivors of Carl include his wife, Elizabeth Ludlow; his sister Frances Mary Gaggero; his son John and wife Nancy, their children, Mary Anne, David, and Kathryn Ludlow; his daughter Shelley Chehab and her husband, Rick Chehab; his stepson Brian Shea and his wife Kathy and their children, Clare, Grace, and Brody Shea; his stepdaughter Kathleen Kraus and her husband William and many nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his parents Edmund and Zula Hatton Ludlow, his brother James, his niece Lynn Gaggero, his nephew James (Butch) Ludlow and his oldest daughter, Diane Ludlow.

Carl’s burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona

Patricia Ann Ziebell passed into Glory on Sunday March 4^th 2018. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband Ron Ziebell and her parents, Charles and Eileen Wright. She is survived by her sister, Charlene Evans, children, Ronnie, Jeff (Jeanne), and Marti Brolliar, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Pat was born in Alton, Illinois in 1941.  Her family moved to Arizona during her elementary school years. She went on to graduate from Phoenix Union High School in 1959, the same year she married Ron. She was still close to her high school friends and attended many class reunions with them.

Pat loved many things. First and foremost Pat loved Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord. She served Him whole heartedly throughout her life by serving in many ministries at the churches she attended.

Next to the Lord, Pat’s family was most important to her. She loved attending any of the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews’ activities. She loved family gatherings. Whether it was at her house or elsewhere she loved to be with her family. She also loved being with friends, whether it was going to dinner, attending weekly bible studies, or even traveling with them.  

Pat loved to knit, sew, and quilt. It seemed like she was always making something for someone.  To sum up her life in a single phrase would be, “A life of service to others”. Thank you, Pat, for your Godly example. You will be truly missed. We can’t wait to see you again one day. We Love you!!

Mary Lee Nelson McCook, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home with her husband by her side on March 6, 2018. She was born in Los Angeles, CA, on February 26, 1943, the only child of Jack and LaVera Nelson. At age eight, she was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained faithful in her testimony throughout her life. Since childhood, Mary endured health issues yet never complained and was known for her cheerful countenance and positive attitude.

On April 18, 1963, she married Wallace Martin McCook, in the Los Angeles Temple. They made their home in Tempe, AZ and raised a family of six children. She developed amazing homemaking skills, including cooking, sewing, and teaching her children. They will remember her as being an excellent listener who was accepting of everyone, a Mom who made life fun! Mary had many opportunities to serve in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society, and always lovingly served. In September 1998, she served an 18-month mission with her husband in the Family History Mission, Ancestral File Department, 6th Foor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, in Salt Lake City, UT.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband and children: John (Heather) McCook, Kathy (Bill) Lloyd, Jim (Cindy) McCook, Laura (Evan) Allred, Jackie (Mark) Latta, Carrie (Jason) Bennett; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2549 N 32nd Street, Mesa, AZ. The family will begin receiving friends at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Interment at Mesa City Cemetery.

Rob Hawkes passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from complications of a fall and his dignified battle with Lewy Body Dementia.  Rob was born May 6th, 1948 in Ogden, UT to Keith and Barbara Hawkes.  He is survived by his wife Nancy Fagan Hawkes, three children Andy Hawkes (Theresa), Ted Hawkes (Melody), and Jake Hawkes (Jen); thirteen wonderful grandchildren, brother Don Hawkes (Dorinne), sister Debbie Overton (Timothy) and sidekick Lodi the dog.  All who knew Rob are invited to enjoy his remembrance and celebrate his life at this service held in honor of such a fine man.  In lieu of flowers, Rob’s family suggests donating to the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (https://suwa.org/).

Our beloved, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and patriarch, Clarence Lamar “Lou” Gehring, passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, Arizona on March 1, 2018.

He was born June 19, 1933 in Bennion, Utah son of Clarence Wilford Gehring and Fay Leone Player. Lou married his eternal sweetheart, Sonja Nichols Gehring on September 15, 1957.

Lou served the Lord in many capacities including membership in the high council, Bishop, and Bishop’s counselor, Young Men organization and as a diligent temple worker in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. One of Lou’s favorite things to do, was correspond and encourage young men and young women serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Lou was an avid sports enthusiast, who played and coached fast pitch softball with the FMA Roadrunners, where they traveled around the country playing in many National Championships. He was an incredible statistician who could list off the stats on any professional athlete.

Lou was a hard worker who loved people and loved to serve them. Lou also served in the military for two years. He graduated from the University of Utah where he was all-conference on the U of U baseball team. He was employed in the Leasing industry for many years as well as employed by the Larry H. Miller Organization in Utah and Arizona for over 16 years.

His faith, love, service and sweet example have and will continue to sustain his family. Lou is survived by his wife, Sonja, children, LuAnn Gehring, Mesa, Arizona, Rob (Lori) Gehring, Palmyra, Pennsylvania, Mysti (Tim) Brown, Mesa, Arizona, Steve (Patti) Gehring, Sandy, Utah; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Norma Wood, Shirlee (Steve) Anderson, Janet (Wade) Oakeson, Marge (Harv) VanKatwyk all from Utah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the LDS Mesa East Stake Canter, 2228 E. Brown Road, Mesa, Arizona at 11am with a viewing at 10am. There will be a viewing Friday evening, March 9, 2018 at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr., Mesa, Arizona from 6-8pm. Interment at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Ivan Earl Murray passed away February 28, 2018, in Tempe, Arizona. Born in Tucson on March 3, 1937, Ivan spent his toddler years in the mining town of Bisbee. After the death of his father in 1940, Ivan moved with his mother and grandparents to Phoenix, where he attended Kenilworth Elementary School and West High School. After a brief stint at Phoenix College and Arizona State University, he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve becoming a Public Information Specialist, 9618th Reserve Recovery Squadron.

Ivan lived in Prescott from 1960 to 1965 where he held a number of positions with the Prescott Courier, moving up the ladder from ad salesman to managing editor. He also served as a reserve officer with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and volunteered with the Prescott and Miller Creek Fire Departments.

While in Prescott, Ivan joined the Smoki People of Prescott in 1962 and, serving as a chief from 1981-82, was a member until the organization disbanded three decades later. He was also a member of the Arizona Press Club, becoming vice president of the northern district in the years 1963 and 1964 and president of the local Prescott Press Club in 1963.

Returning to Phoenix, Ivan worked first as business editor for the Phoenix Gazette (1965-1968) and as Public Relations Specialist for Western Electric (1968-1978) during which time he was president of the Arizona Press Club (1969) and Phoenix Press Club (1972).

Ivan returned to Prescott in 1978 where he owned and managed the Prescott Printing Company until 1992. He then worked at Prescott Newspapers as a managing editor for the Chino Valley Review until 1998 when he moved to Ehrenburg and became editor for the Quartzite Times and Palo Verde Valley Times. Before retiring, Ivan was employed as the Public Information Officer at Palo Verde College from 2000 to 2009.

Every place he lived, Ivan was active in his community, proudly serving dozens of organizations ranging from local Boy Scout troops to the Arthritis Foundation to governor-appointed committees. In this unheralded way, he left a positive, yet indelible, mark on the state he loved.

In addition to serving his community, Ivan loved to hunt, fish, and most of all, spend time with Joyce, his loving wife of almost fifty years who survives him along with sons Ian (Denise), Earl (Yuki), Vincent (Lisa), and Matthew (Shellei), daughter Cari Faust (Greg), five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Laura Beth Roedl Blais passed away today at home surrounded by family, from complications of ALS. She was 49. She was born in Peoria IL  on June 12, 1968 to Kathy (Hayse) Roedl Morey and Marshall Roedl, of Morton, IL. She attended grade school in Morton IL. In 1980 her family moved to Mesa, Arizona

She married Michael Blais with whom she had two children, Ashley Lynn Blais and Jeffery Michael Blais.

She graduated with Honors from Pima Medical school in 1999 as a Medical Assistant. She primarily worked as a Medical Assistant and She was very proud of her work as a teacher at Lamson College.

She became disabled in 2010, due to an accident. She taught herself to walk and talk again but was never able to return to her beloved profession.  She lived with her mother and step-father until 2015, when she purchased her current home, and regained her independence aided in part by her mom and daughter Ashley.  What she enjoyed the most was spending her time with her children, and extend family, and took special pride in her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother, Kathy Morey, step-father, Chester Morey, Daughter Ashley Blais and Bradley Gorman, Son Jeffery Blais and wife Nina Blais. Sisters Jennifer Sailer and Lisa Morey brother Naythan Morey, brother-in-law, Rob Brant, nephews Nicholas Sailer, Sullivan Brant, Jonaythan Morey. Nieces, Uriah Acuff, Vivienne Brant, Abigail Morey.  9 grandchildren, Jaenie Blais, Wyatt Lehue, Joslynn Blais, Danika and Charlie Rodgers, Hunter, Dakota, Caden, and Lillian Gorman.

She was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandmother Marilyn(Moore)Hayse Speerly, and step grandfather Steven Speerly, and grandfather Ralph Hayse, her grandparents Benjamin and Margariette (Graves) Roedl
