Judy Ann Meiley, age 76, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. 

Judy loved spending time with her family and friends.  Her face always lit up when she was in the presence of her grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing the piano/organ at her church and loved to shop.  Judy was a loving mother and grandmother.  She cherished her children and grandchildren whom brought her joy and inspiration.  Judy graduated from Arizona State University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.  Judy retired from the Mesa Unified School District in 1999 after dedicating 21 years of service to teaching.  She taught Economics and Political Science at Mountain View High School and also served as a Varsity Cheerleader Coach for 5 years.  Judy loved playing the piano and organ.  She was the lead pianist / organist for 50 years with the Mesa First Church of the Nazarene.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Annabeth Thorne.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Emery (Duke); son, Steven Meiley; daughter, Janene Howitz; daughter, Jenifer Meiley and her wife, Ronda; son, Bryan Meiley and his wife, Tiffany; 7 grandchildren, Kaylene, Michael, Matthew, McKenzie, Kacey, Brianna, and Carly; 2 great grandchildren, Anastasia and Lillian.  She is also survived by brother, Gary Thorne and his wife, Margie; and sister, Connie Torres and her husband, Joe; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A viewing will be held at 11am to 1pm on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Bunker Family Funerals & Cremation located at 3529 E University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85213.  Burial will follow the viewing at the National Memorial Cemetery at 2:00pm located at 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 (pass the cemetery to Pinnacle Peak light and go right.  Entrance will be on the right and a marquee will display shelter location).  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Mesa First Church of the Nazarene located at 955 E University Drive, Mesa, AZ and officiated by Pastor Caudle.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to your charity of choice as Judy was fond of donating to numerous charities. 

Karen Ann Eilert was born under an endless summer sky in a small Kansas town in the summer of 1954. One of ten children born to her parents, Helen and Albert, Karen spent her early years on their small family farm on the rolling prairies of America’s heartland. Life lessons came hard and fast on that little farm, and Karen had to grow up too fast and too soon. The oldest daughter among her siblings, she learned early on how to help care for her younger brothers and sisters and to help with the day to day chores essential to the life she was born into. Fearless, driven, and passionate in every aspect of her life, she was determined to become more, to accomplish more, than every statistic would say was possible.

In her professional life, Karen was focused and competitive in every sense. Beginning as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and later spending over 25 years as a Licensed Optician, she never allowed herself to be anything less than the best in her field. She took enormous pride in her profession, and pushed everyone around her to be the absolute best they could be. She had an uncanny ability to sense the untapped potential in her colleagues and was relentless in challenging them to rise to their abilities.

As a single mother to three children, she was loving, nurturing, supportive, fierce, and brave beyond measure…but it was as Grandma to her seven grandchildren where Karen found joy beyond measure. A love without boundaries and with limitless hope and possibility. First with five grandsons, and, finally, through two little girls in whom she could bestow her love of hearth and home, teaching them to bake cookies and knead bread dough beside her in the kitchen.

As a wife, Karen found her “happily ever after” in her husband, Mike Valasco. He was her soul mate, best friend, and confidant. Together, they traveled the world, ate the food, drank the wine, and made memories most would envy given two lifetimes. Through her illness, he was her helpmate, caretaker, and tireless advocate. He was her anchor and safe harbor in the storm.

Karen lived life to its fullest and loved openly. She took great joy in her family, whether it was taking cruises with her husband, baking cookies with her girls (all of them), or taking her boys out to lunch. She love her country and lived to spend time with family.

Karen found eternal peace on December 30^th, but her memory and legacy lives on through her husband, Mike, three children – Brandon, Nathan, and Heidi, seven grandchildren – Hunter, Geoffrey, Colby, Eric, Jaxon, Zoey and Evelyn, four brothers, four sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Karen was the strongest woman we have ever known. Her love was limitless. She is gone too soon, but will live forever in our memories as our amazing Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Friend, and Colleague.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 25th at Tre Bella in Downtown Mesa (119 W Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85201). Doors open at 9:30am and we’ll begin at 10am. In lieu of black, please wear Karen’s favorite color, blue.

Jack Owen Stradling, age 86, peacefully left this earth to return home to his Father in Heaven on Saturday January 11, 2020.  He was born November 10, 1933 in Mesa, Arizona to Joseph Owen Stradling and Evelyn Fern Matthews Stradling.

Jack was a native of Mesa, AZ and graduated from Mesa High School in 1952.  After high school, he attended Arizona State College as a Freshman and then was drafted into the Army, where he was stationed in Germany and traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East walking where Jesus once walked.

He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; of the Mesa 2^nd Ward and now Pioneer Ward where he served unselfishly in many callings within the church, along with serving in the Mesa Arizona Temple.   Jack was a master carpenter his entire life and could design and build anything.  Jack was an owner in the family business of Stradling’s Cabinets working side by side with his Brothers, Uncles, and Cousins.  Jack was also a member of the Mesa Sertoma Club over 50 years in creating good citizenship in his hometown of Mesa.

Jack was a loving Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, and Friend to all.  He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Peterson Stradling and their four children; Jordan Stradling (formerly Vayla), Darton Stradling (Sherri), Ashley Alvarez (Troy), Amber Lee (Mike).  He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren, his brother Phillip Stradling (Dora); sisters Linda Messmer (Ken); Shelley Webb (Gary), and many other cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Charles, Dean, and Donald; along with his sister Jayne Vance (Leland).

Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 17^th 2020 at the Mesa Stake Center at 1050 S. Hobson Street, Mesa, AZ 85204, at 10am, with a viewing at 9am prior to the Services.

Robert Clifford “Bob” Merrill, 92, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2020 after a full and interesting life.  Robert was born April 12, 1927 to Clifford and Vera Merrill in Safford, AZ.  He married his first love, Bettie, with whom he shares three children, Lianne, Stephen and Kevin. Robert retired after working 22 years for Salt River Project to care for Bettie until her death from cancer. They were lucky to have celebrated over 40 years of marriage together.  He then married wife, Bessie, whom he spent several happy years with before her death, also from cancer.  He then found and married his next companion, Zilan, whom he also spent several loving years with until her death from heart failure.  Robert then met his match with beloved wife, Janet, and lived an active and happy life with her until the day he died.  He was blessed to serve many couples church missions throughout his married life for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His hobbies included fishing, diving, bowling and card games with family and friends.  Robert is preceded in death by wives Bettie Jane Jelte Merrill, Bessie Laverne Jepson Merrill and Zilan Janet Hollingshead Merrill; grandsons Kevin Clifford “KC” Merrill and Christopher Brent Whiting.  He is survived by wife, Janet Cleone Hillstrom Steffen-Merrill; sisters, Shirley Merrill White and Elaine Merrill Ellsworth; brother, Richard Allen Merrill; children, Lianne Ruth Merrill (Ted) Langston, Stephen Brent (Kathy Barrow-Kimball) Merrill, Sr. and Kevin Scott (Beverly Taylor) Merrill; 7 stepchildren; 15 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.  Memorial services are Saturday, January 18, 2020, 11am-1:30pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2265 S. Hawes St., Mesa, AZ 85206.  Flowers can be delivered to the memorial services.

David W. Grafton, 75, passed away peacefully December 24, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona.  David was very proud to be an Army Veteran.  He loved dogs, nature and making people laugh.  In heaven to meet him were his parents Elizabeth Ida and Elmore Hill Grafton, brother Elmore Grafton and sisters Vivian Curson, Elizabeth North, Isabel Fray, and his three furry friends (Sounder, Conrad, & Boomer).  Keeping David in their loving memory are his beloved wife Karolyn of 47 years, sisters Erean Culbertson, Jean Dunn and Meg Surber. 

Secundino F. Sepulveda, 86, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020 in Mesa, AZ. Known as “Cunino” by most, he lived a very happy and music filled life with family and friends.  Cunino is survived by his wife, Placida; children, Annie, Diane, Connie, Joey, Leonard, 13 grandchildren, and 24+ great grandchildren.  He will be remembered most for his generous spirit of sharing food and laughs with all he met.

The Visitation will be at 2PM followed by the funeral service  at 3PM on Mon, January 13, 2020 at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Scott Edward Clouse, after a courageous battle with depression, left this life on January 6^th, 2020 at the age of 57.  He was born into a loving family on March 29th, 1962 in Mesa, Arizona. He lived in Gilbert Arizona for the past 22 years.  Scott is survived by his wife of 35 years, Angie Wilkins Clouse and five beautiful children and their spouses, Dustin Clouse (Heather), Alicia Durette (Brian), Weston Clouse (Darian), Savanna Clouse and Larissa O’Toole (Brian) and six wonderful grandchildren, Kayla, Cooper, Indy, Briar, Kenzie and Kara.  Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Schlink, and is survived by his Father Larry Clouse (Revis) and seven siblings, Curtis Clouse (Denise), Russell Clouse (Shelle), Susan Wadsworth (Mike), Terry Thomas (David), Kathy Smith (Wayne), Gayle Standage (Richard), and Carla Spear (Dave).  He grew up in Mesa and graduated from Mesa High School in 1980.  He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ecuador in the early 80’s and still has cherished friendships from the people he served.  Scott lived a life of serving others and loving his family.  Many benefited from his skills as a master craftsman.  His woodworking and cabinetry talents have beautified many of his friends homes including his own.  He served in many capacities in the church and loved working with the youth at Boys and Girl’s camps, cooking many delicious meals that are still talked about to this day. He was an avid hunter and outdoors-man and had many cherished memories with his children and friends.  His appreciation for nature was so beautiful to watch.  Another passion was the Clouse Family Farm at his home.  He had many friends (animals) that he cared for, chickens, pigeons, peacocks, goats, and turtles.  He fed and nurtured them everyday.  He was known as farmer Scott.  He had an orchard of citrus that allowed him to juice orange juice and give to many family and friends each season.  Scott was a true friend who was loyal, selfless, helpful, and would do anything for anyone.  He was dedicated to his family, work, church and doing good to others.  We will miss Scott with all our heart as he touched many lives in his life and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.  Scott will be in our hearts forever and “because someone we love is in heaven, there’s a little bit of heaven in our home”.

Funeral Service will be Saturday January 11^th, 2020 at 9:00 am at the Gilbert Arizona Stake Center, 777 East Elliot Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234.  There will be a viewing at the same Gilbert Arizona Stake Center 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday January 10^th, 2020 and with a brief viewing at 8:00 am prior to the funeral service.  Interment Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Bonnie Jean Willis, 88, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born December 20, 1931. Bonnie graduated from Mesa High School in 1952 and shortly thereafter met the love of her life, Bob Willis at the Mezona, a dance hall that was the heart of Mesa’s social life for 63 years and where a large percentage of the city’s couples met and got engaged. They were married on June 12, 1954 and last year celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Bob and Bonnie had wonderful memories in their early married years together, living in different places while Bob served in the Army. Her all-time favorite was Pacific Grove, CA where she spent a lot of time at the beach. Bonnie retired from Chase Bank (formerly Valley National) after 40 years of service and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many positions. She especially enjoyed the years she served as 1st Counselor in the Primary Presidency where she grew the most and that kindled her very social nature. Bob and Bonnie built their home in 1960, raised their family there and never left it. Bonnie was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put needs of her family before her own.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Brian, in 2014. She is survived by her husband J. Robert, son, Chris; daughter, Connie; son, Steve; late son Brian’s wife Lucy, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The service will be held on Friday, morning, January 10 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1345 E. University in Mesa. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Vernal Sessions, 81, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Although we are heartbroken that he is no longer with us, we are rejoicing in the knowledge that he is enjoying a reunion with other family members.

Vernal was born on October 20, 1938 in Afton, Wyoming to Marvin Sessions and Veda Stoker Sessions.  He graduated from Star Valley High School in 1956 and attended Utah State University where he earned his MBA in 1962.

It is there he met the love of his life, Sally Ann Huber, on a blind date. After a 3 year courtship, the couple married on December 22, 1960 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Shortly after the couple received their degrees in their chosen fields, they then moved to Arizona where they lived for the next 52 years. They lived in Fort Huachuca, Phoenix, and finally Mesa.

Early in his career in finance, Vernal worked as a management analyzer for 3 1/2 years in the finance department at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He then joined Dean Witter as a financial planner and then Thompson McKinnon Securities asked him to be manager in their Scottsdale office where he worked until 1979. Over the years, other companies he worked for included: Prudential Securities, Wachovia Securities, and Wells Fargo Securities. Even though the name of the company changed several times, he worked at the same desk for 36 years. Even during his retirement, Vernal could be found and ready to go at 6am at his desk at home checking the status of the stock market. In his free time, Vernal enjoyed hunting deer and elk, as well as fishing for trout and salmon.

Vernal was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in various church callings throughout his life. He loved the Savior and had a strong testimony of the gospel. He lived the life of service to others. He followed the Savior’s command to “Feed my sheep”.

Vernal is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally Huber Sessions, his 3 brothers, Noel, Alan, and Quinn from Wyoming. He is also survived by his 4 children: Dean (Danette) Sessions, Mark (Janet) Sessions, Jill (Richard) Woolf, and Lee Sessions. Vernal felt very blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin Perry Sessions and Veda Emily Stoker Sessions.

Services will be held in Vernal’s honor on January 10, 2020 at 11am, preceded by a visitation at 10am at the LDS Stake Center, 1550 N Val Vista Dr 85213. Interment at the City of Mesa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the humanitarian organization of your choice.

Jean J Horrocks, 85, passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born in Wigan, Lancashire England to George G Jamieson and May Bennett Jamieson on October 20^th, 1934 and raised in Preston, England. Jean resided with her family in Preston until they emigrated to America in 1951.Shortly after arriving in America, her family settled in Salt Lake City, UT.

Jean was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She fulfilled many church callings throughout her life. Some of her favorites included working in the Young Woman’s program, serving an 18-month mission with her husband in Wales, and serving 10 plus years working in the Mesa Temple.

Jean was a devoted wife and always the perfect hostess. She was a wonderful cook, an immaculate homemaker and loved working in her yard and garden. Jean had a beautiful singing voice and a passion for dancing. Her passion for dancing started at a very young age. Performing for family on her parent’s large wooden entry table, sometimes for hours. Her passion stayed with her well into her later years and was shared with her beloved husband. People used to stop and watch them dance together as they seemingly floated across the dance floor. Jean was an elegant and beautiful woman, with a kind and caring heart.

Jean is proceeded in death by her husband, Don R Horrocks; parents, George G. and May Bennett Jamieson; brother, James D. Jamieson; sister, Laura Nichols; and grandchildren, Julie, Cassie and Darin.

Jean is survived by her children, Paul (Amy), Jan (Paul), Jim (Jana), Laura (Randy), Kristin (Larry), Kay (Ed); stepchildren, Brent (Kathy), Craig (Shannon), Lynn (Joella), Wade (Debbie), Darryl (Teri),Scott (Sally), Kevin (Lori), Sheila (Don), 64 Grandchildren; 113 Great-grandchildren; and 10 Great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on January 11^th, 2020 at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N Centennial Way Mesa AZ 85201 with visitation beginning one hour prior to the services at 10:00 am. There will be a graveside dedication at the conclusion of the service to be held at Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N Center St. Mesa, AZ 85201. In Lieu of Flowers, the family would request a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).

Henry Junior Higley… August 10, 1934 – December 30, 2019 of Mesa Arizona. He passed away at home with his daughters Sharon Smith and Gaylene Tatge by his side. He joins his eternal companion, Dorothy Irene Brown Higley. He was born to Henry Higley and Fern Violet England Higley. He is survived by his four daughters, Irene Charney (Joe), Sharon Smith (Wayne), Elaine Stepp (Dan deceased), Gaylene Tatge (Keith), 11 grandchildren, along with great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Henry Junior Higley was the oldest of 9 children: De Roy (deceased), La Neta(deceased), Jay (deceased), Doug, Ann, Beth, Myrna, Marilyn. He was very attached to his little dog, Angel.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in numerous callings including Counselor in the Bishopric in Idaho.

Henry worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He was the best Dad four girls could have.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 3:00pm, at the City of Mesa Cemetery.

Joyce Elaine Hill, 89, passed away peacefully at home December 28, 2019. Joyce was born September 2, 1930.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Mervin and Mae Enzler, her husband of 53 years, Edgar Paul Hill, and her grandson, Michael Bent.

Joyce is survived by her brother Edwin Enzler, her four daughters, Sylvia Kent, Lillian Valley, Linda Molloy, and Violet Bent, 12 Grandchildren and 17 Great- Grandchildren.

Joyce was very active in her church for her whole life. Joyce enjoyed her family, especially the Grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2334 East Pueblo Avenue, Mesa, Arizona 85204.  Interment will be held at the Russian River Cemetery on Low Gap Road in Ukiah, CA 95482 on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 1:00pm.

Michael Eugene Taylor, 70, passed away in Mesa, AZ, on December 26, 2019 after an 8 year battle with cancer. He was born on November 27, 1949, in Winston-Salem, NC, to William Roy Taylor and Mary Idell Parrish.

He is survived by his wife, Lesli Gower Taylor, sisters Janice (Maurice) Yokley (Winston-Salem, NC) and Donna (Willie) Jamison (Winston-Salem, NC). Daughter Serena (Adam) Schmidt (Windsor, CO), Jennifer Young, (Ely, NV), Brooke (Joshua) Liddell (Myton, UT), Bradley (Joshel) Taylor (Provo, UT), Brandon (Mayerlin) Taylor, (Gilbert, AZ) as well as his grandchildren: Jacob Steinfeld, Chris Young, Collin Young, Bradley Schmidt, Andrew Young, Tristan Schmidt, Lindsey Schmidt, JD Taylor, Aidsa Arellano Banderas, Alexander Arellano, Harper Liddell, Reese Liddell, Merrick Liddell, Anthony Taylor, Kendall Taylor, Edith Taylor, Watson Liddell, Mark Taylor, Ender Liddell, Maxen Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy Taylor and Mary Idell Parrish; as well as Mary Ellen Crews, sister and Don Taylor, brother.

Mike grew up in Kernersville, NC and graduated from East Forsyth High School, class of ‘68. In 1968, he was drafted into the Army and served until 1971. After an honorable discharge, he worked full time as he began his career in retail with Kmart, opening stores around the US while attending college full time. In 1979, he transferred with Kmart to the western US and met and married Lesli in Mesa, AZ in 1982, and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He worked in management for Kmart for 33 years. He then shifted to management with Best Buy for 7 years and retired in 2012. He spent his retirement visiting family and teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade.

Mike’s pride and joy was his wife Lesli of 37 years as well as his kids. He also had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 3rd from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bunker Family Funeral Home at 33 North Centennial Way in Mesa, AZ. There will be a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM and funeral to follow at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building located at 1852 North Stapley Drive, Mesa, AZ 85203.

Jennifer Lynn Machula entered mortality on November 21, 1975 and entered eternity on December 28, 2019. Over her lifetime she revealed herself to be a loving, empathetic, and spiritual woman. She was an accomplished vocalist and pianist as she held a Bachelor of Arts cum laude which she used to bless those in her sphere of influence. Jennifer also enriched the world by serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the face of many obstacles and disappointments, such as twice confronting cancer, Jennifer chose to respond with faith and courage. In the end her powerful example shows she came off conqueror, doing so with grace.

 Those of her friend circle say she is a joy to be around and loyal, always supporting and encouraging. Those of her family say she is loving, tender and of an understanding heart. Those who casually know her say she has a keen and discerning mind.

 Jennifer leaves behind two sons Jordan and Dallas Merdick who adored and relied on her; her former husband and childhood friend Grayson Merdick; her father and step-mother Myron and Dorothy Machula; two siblings Cindi Baltz and Ryan Machula. Finally, she also has many relatives, friends, and associates of both long-standing and newer acquaintance. Her mother Terri Lee Franks Machula preceded her in death.

 Memorial services are contemplated for January 11, 2020 at 10:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 745 North Val Vista, Mesa, AZ 85205.

Audrie Hartsfield Taylor, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona.  Audrie was born on October 10, 1934 in Tucson, Arizona, to Audie Ray Hartsfield and Helen Tilton Hartsfield. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She taught pre-kindergarten through third grade in California, Utah, and Texas—retiring in 2002 as Teacher of the Year in the Fabens Independent School District. Audrie touched the hearts of many while living in various places including San Diego, Miami, Puerto Rico, El Paso, Mexico City, and Ottawa, Canada. Audrie, a devout and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in various callings including Primary and Relief Society President. Her love of music and flair for the dramatic made the award-winning roadshows that she wrote and directed special events for all.

Audrie was a social butterfly with a well-developed talent for visiting and socializing. She was the perfect hostess and a wonderful cook renowned for tacos and desserts. Above all, Audrie was a loving and devoted mother. Audrie is survived by her children (and their spouses), Wayne H. Taylor (Karen), Thomas “Tom” G. Taylor, Troy T. Taylor (Stacy); her former husband, Wayne O Taylor; and her siblings (and their spouses), Donald Hartsfield (Vicci), LaRae McDaniel (Vic), and Jim Hartsfield.  She is also survived by nine (9) grandchildren (and their spouses), Cory (Emily), Aaron (Rachel), Jeremy (Shaylie), Travis, Hayley (Neil), Trina (Dallin), Caroline (Tyler), Hunter, and Hudson; and by seven (7) great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Deatra Montgomery passed away in her sleep on December 26, 2019 in Gilbert, AZ. She was 61 years old and lived there her entire life. She was preceded in death by parents Cecil and Betty Burger. She is survived by husband Ernest of 43 years and children William, Carl, Rocky, Wesley and Ashley and grandchildren Veronica, Heidi, Jordan and Julian. 

Elizabeth enjoyed life, her family and gossiping with her friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren. 

Viewing will be held Thursday January 2nd 2020 at 10am with services starting at 11am at Bunker Funeral Home 33 N Centennial Way in Mesa.
